Of course, my dad knows a kid who was making mid 50's at like 23, and that was only about 2 years ago, now he's the head of an entire accounting department at a big lawyer firm

2019-02-16 04:03:55 UTC

@OttoVonBismarck where is there to go?

2019-02-16 04:04:05 UTC

I’ve thought about taking my petroleum degree to Norway

2019-02-16 04:04:06 UTC

I want to move to Poland, but that's only because I'm literally Polish. Don't abandon your country no matter how far it goes to shit. @OttoVonBismarck

2019-02-16 04:05:05 UTC

Yeah, I agree but I do sometimes get the urge to jump ship

2019-02-16 04:05:52 UTC

How do you feel about people jumping ship to the US?

2019-02-16 04:06:44 UTC

Only way I'd leave to another country is if I had a family and was constantly in fear of their safety, it'd have to be worse than South Africa currently is

2019-02-16 04:08:11 UTC

@Jacob Wow, that's awful income, 25K after 5 years of accounting

2019-02-16 04:08:13 UTC

The difference is I speak the language, have useful skills and like the culture

2019-02-16 04:12:20 UTC

My father is getting more angry at immigration every time I talk to him

2019-02-16 04:12:41 UTC

Can't tell if I'm great at redpilling or he realizes the obvious

2019-02-16 04:14:31 UTC

@fgtveassassin holy shit where did you find $25,000?

2019-02-16 04:15:21 UTC

2019-02-16 04:15:24 UTC

@OttoVonBismarck You're still not one of them, and there's a lot of economic negative effects of immigration regardless of culture. Skilled immigration is worse in a way because it removes the incentive for the country to investin education.

2019-02-16 04:15:49 UTC

@fgtveassassin well, the first problem is that you're looking at associate's degrees

2019-02-16 04:16:00 UTC

True

2019-02-16 04:16:11 UTC

is the category you're looking at even accounting?

2019-02-16 04:17:33 UTC

There is no accounting option, I'm on business

2019-02-16 04:18:17 UTC

ya I wasn't sure what accounting would fall under either

2019-02-16 04:21:03 UTC

My area surprisingly has a median income of 61k for accountants, that doesn't break it down based on degree though

2019-02-16 04:22:25 UTC

Pretty much at over 100k for the 90th percentile incomes for the whole state

2019-02-16 04:23:08 UTC

@Jacob I don’t think one petroleum engineer is going to have the same effect as a million unskilled workers. And I am part Norwegian so I know a little about the culture. At any rate I’m not really serious (atm)

2019-02-16 04:23:34 UTC

Well, one person never really has an impact

2019-02-16 04:23:46 UTC

Entry level for my city with a BA is average 50k

2019-02-16 04:24:04 UTC

My degree at my school is only $49,000 after one year

2019-02-16 04:24:11 UTC

which is pretty low for computer science

2019-02-16 04:24:22 UTC

Lookin pretty cozy post college if I stick my work and don't mess it up

2019-02-16 04:24:59 UTC

Even after 6 years graduates of my school don't catch up to UW graduates after 1 year

2019-02-16 04:25:21 UTC

I don't personally care that much, but my mom thinks I'm gonna be super rich after I graduate 😬

2019-02-16 04:44:01 UTC

Any IE members in the Cloverdale CA area? I’m in Cloverdale until Sunday

2019-02-16 04:55:04 UTC

You should post that in #norcal on the SW slack, @Grayson.

That new article about the Utah action gave Patrick a decent platform.. I'm glad someone published our viewpoint for once vs the normal rhetoric.

2019-02-16 05:22:11 UTC

Utah action got a lot of press great success

Does anyone know how to find cheaper car insurance? Cheapest I found so far is $94 a month

2019-02-16 05:24:14 UTC

If I was a boomer I wouldn't need cheaper car insurance

2019-02-16 05:24:32 UTC

The reason it's expensive is because I'm a very inexperienced driver

2019-02-16 05:25:02 UTC

You only technically need liability
