I had no idea that Asperger's was divorced from autism

2019-02-21 00:29:07 UTC

Do autists live to be old? I heard that IQ actually correlates with lifespan.

2019-02-21 00:29:14 UTC

Theyre just buckets of symptoms that show up together. They have no underlying causal theory

2019-02-21 00:29:29 UTC

The latest DSM tightened up the reqs for autism diagnosis, so aspies aren't autists officially

2019-02-21 00:29:30 UTC

IQ correlates to being based and redpilled.

2019-02-21 00:29:35 UTC

It does, but only because high IQ people tend to take better care of themselves

2019-02-21 00:29:47 UTC

@Jacob that's actually a good question, most of the autistic folks that I've known in my day have other underlying health issues that would prevent them from living a long life. But that doesn't mean all of them do that's just an anecdotal experience

2019-02-21 00:29:52 UTC

Or low iq people die off

2019-02-21 00:29:52 UTC

oh ya that's another thing
"autism" just refers to described behaviors
it's not really an *actual* condition @Perihelion - CA

2019-02-21 00:29:55 UTC

And make more money for better treatments

2019-02-21 00:30:06 UTC

Saying that you behaved a certain way because of your autism is a tautology

2019-02-21 00:30:17 UTC

True

2019-02-21 00:30:27 UTC

Has Down syndrome always existed or is it a new thing?

2019-02-21 00:30:33 UTC

Most modern psychology is tautology

2019-02-21 00:30:43 UTC

Well, that doesn't mean it isn't useful

2019-02-21 00:30:44 UTC

Always, they just used to be left in the woods

2019-02-21 00:30:48 UTC

@Jacob I just learned a new word

2019-02-21 00:30:52 UTC

Describing behaviors can still be useful

2019-02-21 00:31:14 UTC

You can see downies in ancient and medieval art

2019-02-21 00:31:14 UTC

@Jordan - MD Did you have to look it up or was it obvious from context?

2019-02-21 00:31:28 UTC

They tend to be sweathearts so people liked them

2019-02-21 00:31:35 UTC

I looked it up.

2019-02-21 00:31:44 UTC

Normally I would say redundant. But that's a really cool way to phrase it

2019-02-21 00:32:06 UTC

ya, I guess that kinda means the same thing

2019-02-21 00:32:21 UTC

"tautology" is the first word to come to mind, I wasn't trying to sound big brained or anything

2019-02-21 00:32:26 UTC

Downs has a recognized cause, afaik autism and aspergers are kind of “idk lol”

2019-02-21 00:32:35 UTC

I love our vocabulary. We shouldn't be ashamed of that

2019-02-21 00:32:48 UTC

Downs is a doubling of a chromosome

2019-02-21 00:32:53 UTC

People say big brained like it's a bad thing

2019-02-21 00:33:05 UTC

They have more genetic code than us

2019-02-21 00:33:15 UTC

Downie master race

2019-02-21 00:33:20 UTC

Well, I do think there's a such thing as being needlessly articulate

2019-02-21 00:33:22 UTC

They have 3 of chromosome 21 instead of 2

2019-02-21 00:33:30 UTC

TFW downies are the next step in evolution

2019-02-21 00:33:41 UTC

You can definitely overwrite

2019-02-21 00:33:49 UTC

Just remember your audience

2019-02-21 00:33:56 UTC

More = better, always

2019-02-21 00:33:57 UTC

13 chromosome do 50 bad

2019-02-21 00:33:58 UTC

@Jacob that's true, although most of the time I use larger words to shorten a sentence. I feel like as long as you know the definition it's actually easier to read

2019-02-21 00:34:50 UTC

My life would be so much better if my IQ were 60

2019-02-21 00:34:54 UTC

4 chromosome 21 is too powrful for this dimension
