The tests isn't whether or not it'll fail, the test doesn't stop until it does. It's WHEN it fails, then you be the judge on whether or not that's acceptable for your usage

2020-05-19 18:29:37 UTC

Loose tolerances doesn't mean that you can jam dirt in it. Just means that it's easier to get dirt into there. Hahaha.

2020-05-19 18:30:22 UTC

I've watched a lot of AR vs AK videos or whatever. And more often than not, the AR actually performs very well.

2020-05-19 18:59:50 UTC

AR's, at least ones not made by Anderson, are pretty tight fitting. Mud would be able to jam it up, if the mud could get inside in the first place

2020-05-19 19:07:19 UTC

The biggest difference between the two I think is cleaning after they've failed and return to function

2020-05-19 19:08:09 UTC

AK you tear the top cover off, piss on the bolt carrier, and your good to go. An AR COULD require a field strip with carrier removal

2020-05-19 19:08:55 UTC

An ak more likely than an AR, wouldn't require essential pieces being removed from the gun the way an AR does.

2020-05-19 19:11:18 UTC

Yeah there's stories at least, of people having to brace an ak against the ground, kick the bolt open, then keep firing

2020-05-19 19:12:23 UTC

Mortaring an ak is basically standard practice if it's jammed shut. Whether you can mortar an AR repeatedly I don't know I've never seen someone yet

2020-05-19 19:12:25 UTC

Try*

2020-05-19 19:16:55 UTC

I've seen people do it once or twice in a row but it wasn't the kind of malfunction that was clearable in that manner

2020-05-19 19:17:44 UTC

I just don't have much experience clearing malfunctions with an ar because the only ones I've ever had are very occasional primer duds, almost never.

2020-05-19 19:18:22 UTC

sometimes I'll throw random snap caps in a magazine just for malfunction clearing drills

2020-05-19 19:19:36 UTC

It was a malfunction that was caused by him installing a trigger part backwards, bullet was trapped in the chamber and mortaring ripped the case away from the bullet spilling the powder on everything

2020-05-19 19:19:50 UTC

Oh nice lol

2020-05-19 19:20:16 UTC

I don't even understand how it all happened but it was a new build

2020-05-19 19:30:21 UTC

You can absolutely mortar an AR

2020-05-19 19:46:40 UTC

But can you grease an AR with ground up banana?

2020-05-19 20:11:15 UTC

@AppalachianTerminus I have mortared an AR/M16 many times. It's fine.

2020-05-19 20:11:57 UTC

Provo, you don't grease up weapons. You lube them.

2020-05-19 20:24:30 UTC

@snappleapple1212 can I message you with suggestions

2020-05-19 20:26:14 UTC

@snappleapple1212 another one I can say without more info is under wood 9mm extreme defense

2020-05-19 20:29:17 UTC

Huh, radian must be pretty proud of their rails or something. They don't sell uppers without rails

2020-05-19 20:38:54 UTC

any good books or guides to getting started in ammo reloading?

2020-05-19 20:46:37 UTC

@TankzFoBeer most any reloading manual will have a breakdown of how to do it

2020-05-19 20:46:53 UTC

The reloading room is a good fb page a lot of very experienced people

2020-05-19 21:35:29 UTC

I mean you can put lithium grease in weapons

2020-05-19 22:57:36 UTC

@Artemis nope πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

2020-05-19 22:58:05 UTC

My first idea was to get just an upper and lower. Kinda forced me to get that rail

2020-05-19 23:10:00 UTC

@littlebitt08 please feel free too.

2020-05-19 23:22:21 UTC

My dad came to me asking about ar parts for a pistol. Might actually get him to do something of reasonable quality

2020-05-20 01:16:03 UTC

Any of you guys run gear for a G3 or FAL variant?

2020-05-20 01:23:28 UTC

Was thinking about it

2020-05-20 01:24:48 UTC

I like my G3 but it’s not my go to rifle

2020-05-20 01:29:32 UTC

I used to have a G3 and while it's a fun gun, and one of the most reliable rifles ever made, the manual of arms and construction paired with using a full size cartridge that's not shooting sub moa leaves you at a pretty big disadvantage.
Mag changes are a bitch because you have to lock the charging handle back, line up a mag just right, and slap the charging handle down.

2020-05-20 01:36:39 UTC

Good luck in any close quarter situation with that thing too, hahaha.

2020-05-20 01:41:16 UTC

You're better off just beating them to death with it. The gun's pretty heavy but it'll keep its zero afterward

2020-05-20 14:48:17 UTC

Anyone have a London bridge trading carrier?

2020-05-20 15:09:48 UTC

Like half of the people until 3 or 4 years ago

2020-05-20 16:40:23 UTC

@Crye_Salesman well I just saw one on extraction and was curious about them. I was looking at the spiritus lv119 but decided I wanted something that I could potentially load down later on if I wanted and I heard mixed reviews about loading a minimalistic plate carrier with too much stuff causing lower back pain. But guessing about your name what would a Crye cage carrier run me?
