i wish my religion would observe Lent. I respect and admire my Catholic brothers and sisters who on this day reflect on their lives and re-committ to a more Christian life. Whether you give something up or make a goal to start doing something, soften your hearts, always show charity which is the pure love of Christ to everyone. Stay strong in your beliefs and convictions, while showing love and compassion to everyone. Unless you walk in someone else's shoes, you don't know what road they have walked. I know we are not supposed to talk about religion in General but i wanted to send my love to all of you Catholics in IE on this special day.

I mean, you don't have to have a religious angle to do fasts or give something up.

Catholicism dropped self-flagellation but it's still a practice I have done in the past, doesn't matter if it's no longer mainstream doctrine.
