@Katze Miaulitzer I think one reason that English has been used so commonly as a general language is because of the amount of nations (mainly former colonies) that have English as a first, second or third language

And as nations like India grow, that becomes more important

Tbh, if Hindi wants to become a well known language it needs to get rid of a lot of the dialects

Plus Canada isn’t in Europe

The US isn’t in Europe

Australia is its own continent

India is In Asia

South Africa is obviously in Africa

The only European colony of Britain is the Republic of Ireland

And Cyprus isn’t an English speaking country

Only that cluster of islands aka Malta is a country that was under British rule that speaks English
