It's common that people speak main language + german
or that + english
German and English is similar
Due to the Anglo-Saxons being originally German
@Dr.Cosby ```Only AMERICA matters``` So the Monroe Doctrine? π
But Luxembourg has their own language
English is earlier to learn tho
"Luxembourgish" is just a bastard Dutch
like Flemish
it's like, Irish is a language but we all know it's a bastard English
But as German takes the cake on being 1st language it would make sense for it to be German
As no other English speaking country is in the eu
Yeah but we don't care
We want to keep our individuality
You can go ahead and boot the United States of Europe crap
Also if I have to consider every country that has influence, then because of NATO English would take the cake
Well, if English would be the best choice then you can say βHello United States of the Westβ
I love trump.

@Katze Miaulitzer I think one reason that English has been used so commonly as a general language is because of the amount of nations (mainly former colonies) that have English as a first, second or third language
Tbh, if Hindi wants to become a well known language it needs to get rid of a lot of the dialects
Plus Canada isnβt in Europe
The US isnβt in Europe
Australia is its own continent
India is In Asia
South Africa is obviously in Africa
The only European colony of Britain is the Republic of Ireland
Or country that was formerly British
@TheBritishGamer β€π (Meh) I was talking about the EU not the world
Hmm
I doubt they'd be able to get rid of their dialects
@Katze Miaulitzer malta, cyprus, gibraltar have all been or still are colonised by the uk
Gibraltar isnβt even a country
And Cyprus isnβt an English speaking country
Only that cluster of islands aka Malta is a country that was under British rule that speaks English
Doesn't matter, i don't think there needs to be countries to pressure english influence in the EU
Of course it helps majorly, but external influence plays the key part
I am saying German should be used.
Brexit smexit, imo if shit changes it changes, we should be focusing on bigger deals than a haphazard choice our parliament had litteraly no intention of siding with what the public said.
Just realised this might not be onntopic
Malta does not speak English
