Atleast flat earthers are harmless
Feminists seem to be encouraging children into drag and get hormones
"Encourage". More like force really.
The kids in most cases do not get a choice in the matter.

@RyeNorth I'd say otherwise, that we need to get into the habit of proving shit. because if we don't, then those delusions settle inside and become belief, and belief is hard as fuck to remove even with direct contradictory evidence
I think we agree more than we disagree.
I agree
The nuance is that, I don't think you can convince a flat-earther they're wrong if they're dead set on it.
nor can you convince male who thinks they should've been a female that they're wrong. That shouldn't change the way YOU operate.
discussions like that hinge upon the person seeing how they're wrong or right
which is difficult to do that with the standard approach people take to arguing: I'm right, you're wrong, here's why
when you argue like that, rather than being about finding any sort of truth, it becomes a childish fight
and topics as wide as the one you just brought up, you'd have to find an element within what they're saying in order for them to start to realize how it doesn't make sense, which is difficult without being able to latch on to something that they say specifically to show that it doesn't
those arguments are kinda difficult to get into because you can't focus on that element of what's definitely true, it puts us all in this weird arguing stance no matter what
ex. I dunno the sex of anyone here, but let's say you're male. I argue that you're female. you wouldn't dismiss that in quite the same way as you'd dismiss a flat earther. but if I say something like that, you have something you can go to immediately to show that that's wrong. you show me a picture of your dick (don't get any ideas), I lose that argument immediately
Flat earth confirmed.
The problem is, for most of the people affected by these things, truth is subjective for them, not objective. Attempts to explain a round earth to someone who believes in a flat earth fall short because they need proof (And most of the means of getting proof of this are more time consuming than they care for). And they've got ways of dismissing your arguments, I.E. dismissing photos of the curvature of the earth with the existence of a fisheye lens.
Similarly, someone who's affected by gender dysphoria is going to be convinced of their truth.
Trying to convince me that I'm female when I know I'm male isn't a good example, though. It's worth noting that someone who thinks they're female, despite having physiological differences otherwise has already dismissed the tangible evidence to the contrary.
The problem, I think you'd agree, is the culture of confirmation that's being created, not the issues themselves.
A flat-earther is wrong, but they aren't particularly harmful until they start violently demanding that other people accept their worldview.
Someone with gender dysmorphia isn't exactly harmful to anyone else until they - or those around them - begin to insist on punishment for people who don't play along.
It's the enforcement of conformity - ironically something those who rail against the Patriarchy supposedly speak out against - that becomes the danger to an individual.
@RyeNorth my example was not one to represent "disproving flat earthers" but to be used as an example of something you know immediately is not correct and why it's not correct and you wouldn't spend any energy debating it seriously because of how quickly you can crush it. the flat earthers one is different specifically because of how deeply you'd have to dig into it before you start seeing things that are wrong that you can express to them clearly
I just subbed to him.
