so the way america trys to prove how great it is, is through earning its position based on a criteria, that criteria so far has been economical and military because we seem to think those 2 things matter based on our history. many other western countrys see things a similar way but just arnt doing as well as we are. for israel though the best way to be the best country is to be more israel, which also means to be less not israel
Israel has a mostly secular government so while the basis of its existence is theocratical it's not governed that way.
how do you define it being secular exactly? if you are trusting what they are telling you it is i shouldnt need to point out how that is a bad way of basing your expectations. i prefer to look at their actions, i dont think israels actions are that of a secular nation.
Statist = not secular.
There is no such thing as society.
If it was a theocracy then only the religious parties would be in power, everyone would have to follow the bible, all stores wouldn't be allowed to be open on the sabbath, pork would be outlawed, homosexuality outlawed, etc.
Acording to the religious groups Israel isn't even allowed to exist before the messiah comes.
thats a bias assumption based on a stereotype you have of what people who arnt secular would do in a position
It's not because that is what they advocate for. The only reason some of their demands are met is so the right wing government can keep the majority.
Secularism is a spook.
Although currently the government is breaking up because the right doesn't want to follow the religious demands for army exemption.
Separation of church and state is a contradiction.
Milton Friedman is left of Marx.
😱
The most efficient way to exploit workers by extrating the surplus value of their labour is to have a free market in everything but money.
Milton Friedman is the worst kind of socialist.

You detain them, they complain. You release them, they complain.
Okay, that sucks. But it's unethically framed in such a way that implies wrongdoing on the agency's part.
From the story itself, all reasonable actions were taken to see to the child's health.
It was only reported for ideological reasons. In any real sense, the incident is not news.
Regarding the use of credit cards to buy guns used in massacres, be aware that the more expectation of examination of electronic transactions is regulated, more hurdles for currencies that cannot reliably we traced back to an individual. The term "follow the money" is well known to both journalists and the governments. There is little chance the latter to reduce their ability to follow the money. Our post 9/11 anti-terrorist legislation pretty much mandates tracability.
The story about the child death is relevant since the government is responsible for the safety and well-being of people under their care. When someone, especially a child, dies in custody that necessitates attention and investigation.
