I know you lads don't think authoritarian rule is a good idea at this point but it's already happening with the goverment spying on you and the like. So the is do you want someone who will save the west or slow the decline?

They always think it would be their side in power
And forget that on the next cycle you are fucked

the other thing with authoritarians, they always think the person on their side will put in place exactly what they want. But they rarely do, which usually leads to a line of kill or be killed.
which leads to paranoid people in power, who then start killing and imprisoning people they think are plotting against them
which in turn makes them actual enemies, which just fuels their paranoia

The people who are for authoritarian rule but aren't monsters themselves are the "useful idiots" that go as soon as the new order is established.
These people also tend to forget that its the Authoritarian rule thats driving us downward, the authoritarian rule is causing the decline in the first place.
if you accept those two basic realities, you can't accept an authoritarian government simply because it will either ruin you, or it will kill you, unless you are the monster in which case, you are then the very thing we're fighting against
the only way it will work is if the people who are in power, don't want the power at all, because they will then actively try to remove their own power. Which A. goes against basic human instinct, and B. They simply wont live long enough because they will be killed by those that desire that power
