there is not even a way i can rewrite that would read she was fined for losing. Unless it straight up read "She was fined 17,000 in violations for us open loss"

the "during" is what really makes the difference because it means the fines happened before it was a loss, therefore cannot be because she lost.

She most likely did those things because she was already losing badly. Same as when she threatened to force a ball down that line judge's throat 10 years ago. She was losing and got a minor penalty, so she threw a tantrum.

yeah bringing sexism into it jsut makes her look bad. lol had to fact check the CBC radios reporting on it for my mom cuz they left out a few important details like that her coach admitted to it to stop my mom from yelling at the radio XD
