I am immediately skeptical(tm) of anyone who has a radical opinion shift overnight

2018-05-23 10:07:18 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Wow, Vic Berger really sperged out on Timโ€™s video, then deleted everything. Unreal.

2018-05-23 10:08:03 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Doesnโ€™t help his case

2018-05-23 14:14:11 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

@Timcast check the pinned comment on your Gavin video, he was commenting there and someone copied a few of his comments for posterity since he deleted all but one. The only one left is him saying โ€œdeleted them because all of Poolโ€™s fans are disgusting.โ€

2018-05-23 19:36:32 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Would this apply to all public officials?

2018-05-24 05:01:22 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I doubt it was so much โ€œsaltโ€ as much as they saw it personally advantageous for their Brand

2018-05-24 05:01:39 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

As an aspiring twitter journo

2018-05-25 00:54:42 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

honestly if you want to work in games, imo the most stable option (relatively speaking) is to work in co-development or outsourcing. games get bigger every year and it's a much better choice to work at a place where your employment isn't dependent on how well a game sells, but only the fact that another company needs your company to help make it.

2018-05-25 00:55:09 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

it sucks that games and film are so unstable

2018-05-25 00:55:41 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

yeah, it's been a thing for years and it's here to stay

2018-05-25 00:56:18 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

luckily on the art side of things, within games and film the outsourcing often goes to western companies since they have the best talent

2018-05-25 00:57:07 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

however really big companies like ubisoft and EA have shanghai studios that they use in addition to outside firms

2018-05-25 00:57:15 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

they own their own outsourcing lmao

2018-05-25 01:04:32 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

it also sucks that if you want to work on AAA games in the US, you are pretty much forced to live in either LA or Seattle. there are very few studios outside of those.

2018-05-25 19:57:14 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Honestly sometimes like in its quest to become like TV, it seems like YouTube is somehow more restrictive than actual TV

Having a discussion with normies about YouTube is weird, I have no idea who half these people are yet they all have like 4M subscribers

2018-05-26 01:15:06 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

jesus christ the cringe

2018-05-26 02:46:26 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

It could actually be an embargo, so they could reveal it and talk about it later

2018-05-26 02:58:20 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Can we copystrike vice?

2018-05-26 09:33:25 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

sadly it's just delaying the inevitable

2018-05-26 23:05:20 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I am hoping a decentralized solution like Bitchute will gain traction, but of course the problem with any alternative is that it will attract those wronged by the existing platforms as its first users, and those people tend to fall so outside the norm that it turns users away from it

2018-05-26 23:07:21 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

While Iโ€™m sure none of us here care that the front page has conspiracy videos and shit, those who unironically watch Logan Paul and makeup channels wonโ€™t get content, and sadly that is actually what makes up a lot of YouTube viewership

2018-05-26 23:08:19 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

And no commercial usage because of it either

2018-05-26 23:08:43 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

No jimmy kimmel clips to flood the front page with lol

2018-05-26 23:38:00 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I want to be fine with having one highly policed main platform and one lesser known but more free alternative, but that doesnโ€™t really help if you actually want to spread alternative ideas

2018-05-26 23:42:17 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

You canโ€™t spread any ideas if youโ€™re not even on the same website ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-05-29 02:15:06 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

are you not allowed to talk about those things entirely, or just no paid promotions on those subjects?

2018-05-29 02:20:32 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

there's a lot of really shady shit that goes on in the crypto youtube space, so I kinda get that

2018-05-29 11:25:26 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Oi mate you got a license for those lyrics?

2018-05-29 18:25:33 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Itโ€™s not just money, the regulatory hurdles required to start your own ISP are so intense that even Google is having problems expanding Google Fiber

2018-06-11 19:38:41 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

That is one problem, though from what I know Google runs their own lines (and often does a poor job)

2018-06-11 19:40:07 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I have a buddy whoโ€™s an ATT tech, he says Google hires local contractors who often do shady shit like run lines through the road only inches deep and just leave it temporarily filled in

2018-06-11 19:42:05 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I canโ€™t wait to purchase the chat package that includes discord

2018-06-11 19:49:34 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Again, what new company? How with the regulation involved? And where? We have literally one option here that isnโ€™t satellite.

2018-06-11 19:50:18 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

If those concerns were addressed I would agree

2018-06-11 19:57:14 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

woke

2018-06-11 20:46:03 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

A competing company can't even worry about expense if they can't even explore the option due to regulation

2018-06-12 06:45:27 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Liberal staff outnumber conservatives 5 to 1 at universities, so I'm not entirely surprised that political firings skyrocketed for them

Can gab survive off solely banned twitter rejects?

2018-06-16 21:46:18 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I remember back years ago though, Rubin would get constantly lambasted for not pushing guests enough and not taking hard enough stances on issues. I wonder if he listened to those critics, because it really seems like he's accelerated into that direction.

2018-06-16 21:51:47 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

lol you would get pushback from the left on that, who say there are more

2018-06-16 21:52:11 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I'm happy to agree that gender identification might be a spectrum, but as I explained to someone once, I see it more like a slider with shades of gray between two points, whereas the proponents of that viewpoint see gender as an RGB colorwheel

2018-06-16 21:56:32 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

with infinite points

2018-06-16 21:58:45 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

is it offensive to only be attracted to orbogenders?

2018-06-16 21:59:46 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

it's often used as such

2018-06-16 23:47:29 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

this was an interesting crticial look at steem, goes over a lot of its past problems and shadiness https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HseuaDMmGo

2018-06-16 23:49:01 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

tldr it has a lot of problems but crypto advocates like it because it's one of the few working real-world usages of blockchain technology

2018-06-16 23:49:19 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

in the public

2018-06-16 23:50:42 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

he goes over some issues at launch that made it seem shady, but they have fixed a lot of the past problems

2018-06-16 23:50:57 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

that's what I meant, not implying it's currently shady

2018-06-17 02:59:45 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

On the topic of Timโ€™s last vid. I find it interesting how much weight some people put into critic scores and such. I donโ€™t really watch movies but for games, I much prefer to see raw gameplay and judge it for myself or ask friends whose tastes I know already before purchasing, and pretty much ignore any journo opinions.

2018-06-19 00:23:02 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

Good thing theyโ€™re not saying it to guys, theyโ€™re saying it to themselves.

2018-06-20 08:28:12 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

What Iโ€™m getting at is that the content is meant for those who already agree

Itโ€™s public, so yes.

2018-06-22 01:26:22 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I used to have a small arcade route. Always sad to watch fully grown adults overhand skeeballs into the wall behind the machine.

2018-06-23 08:44:40 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

We kicked someone out once for changing their kid's diaper on one of the games

2018-06-23 08:49:26 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I remember fixing a driving game once at a friend's arcade, it was off and a young kid came over and sat down on the seat and put a coin in. The dad came over and yelled "HEY! ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID? CAN'T YOU SEE HE'S WORKING ON IT?!" and physically removed the kid kicking and screaming
