@Dr.Wol going to watch that video after this one :
Remember guys the constitution doesn’t apply to private corporations ...Seriously wtf is wrong with people
depends on what it says really
Well...it doesn't. But if there's a private corporation(s) that has a monopoly/oligopoly that could potentially infringe on your rights and take you out of public life then I think the government does have a mandate to intervene in order to protect your rights
Agreed
That's the point of the government, it exists to protect your rights
The problem is a lot of these corporations don't count as monopolies yet
So the government won't pursue them
They have no laws against oligopolies
I don't know if anti-trust laws would apply in something like the Alex Jones situation because it sure looks like collusion
anti-trust wouldn't
cuz its not the opposing youtube channels that get Alex Jones banned,
So they're not "removing competition"
and youtube/fb/twitter is removing their own "profit" thing by removing Alex Jones
not sure if its laws being broken, but its foul play
looks like i have a senator to vote out of office
factoid, an old tweet but probably still accurate... https://twitter.com/qikipedia/status/901972606223515648?s=20
These days I think they correct more than 2% of their mistakes, but they're shadow edits and somehow they get more things wrong in the process
Or they just dont mention it.
you could try reaching out to QI for the source material on that tweet, but its an old tweet and I think they go through quite a lot of researchers, they may not even remember which researcher brought it up
oliver darcy said social giants only took actiona gainst jonesa fter weeks of media pressure
but the pressure was about fake news
now they are going "oh its not about fake news, its about hate speech"
And then we go back to the slippery slope of who gets to define "hate speech". There really is no good way to portray this.
You mean if corporations control everything we can ban speech and guns and privacy? WTF I love corporations now!
Remember the good ol' days when leftists hated corporations?
what other emotions could we make illegal?
anger speech? i think that would lead to more violence
love speech? arent more murders portrayed in the home or whatever?
happy speech? might make some people jealous and offend them?
sad speech? might get people depressed and cause suicidal thoughts?
hate speech... oh yeah we already got that one...
what other human emotions could we ban?
