Technology was not advanced enough to fake something of that scale.

It would cost even more to fake it than to just go to the moon.

@Jondar02 To get the technology to be able to replicate the direction of light shown on the moon landing they would need an extremely powerful laser light, something that was still new to the world at the time and costed ridiculous amounts of money to manufacture.

On top of this

If the moon landings were fake the Soviets would've said something about it.

It'd be pretty damn easy to perform stunts on the moon yet hard at the same time, simply because zero gravity
