Dang... everyone here is so prepared. I've always wanted a bugout bag, but I am definitely not on that level. I'm majoring in Recreation Management (at a conservative university, no brainwashing for me!) simply for the wilderness survival classes

I'd like to just know the skills, but as a career I'd actually like to be a screenwriter. I'm not majoring in it because my college doesn't offer it as a major and I'm not going to a liberal school for that, so I'm basically starting small and writing stories on my own. But the skills I get in my current major are really good, the classes that aren't about wilderness survival are about running a business so it's very useful information

@Tyler Zed That's what one of my friends who has gotten his short stories published in various magazines told me. I've been pretty busy the past couple of weeks, but when things settle down for me I'm definitely doing that. In the meantime, I've been trying to make sure I at least write *something* everyday, even if I can't make it to 1000 words every time

My dad went to buy guns yesterday at a gun store and almost every gun was sold out. In fact, my dad was only able to get a gun because nobody wanted one that was colored teal. The owner of the shop said that people have been buying guns like crazy. I had known that gun sales had been on the rise since March, but I had no idea it was like this.

Just putting it out there, half of my siblings have been vaccinated and the other half haven’t but I haven’t noticed any difference between the two groups when it came to us getting sick. However, those of us siblings who were vaccinated have weirder allergies than those who weren’t. Plus, I got chicken pox from the vaccine as a baby which was what made my parents start researching them. This is all anecdotal, of course, and I mean if you want to get vaccinated I don’t really care. The real worrying thing is when they start making it mandatory with no exceptions. That’s when I get real squirrelly and put my foot down

They need to stop remaking and rebooting things, every time they do they suck

I’m also getting real annoyed with all these female characters that are just perfect in every way and can’t have any flaws because I can’t relate to those types of characters. They’re just annoying. I’m Gen Z and I watch movies from the 80’s way more than any current ones because they are just better in every way and the characters actually have realistic weaknesses

Has anyone here seen the TV show Jericho? I haven’t finished it yet, but it’s a pretty good show so far and fairly accurate to my understanding of what would happen during the aftermath of an atomic bomb. It doesn’t try to rub an agenda in your face with race or gender, (at least not that I’ve noticed) there is a tiny bit of drama, but it doesn’t seem super unrealistic, at least not compared to other TV shows I’ve seen. All in all, it’s one of the few TV shows made in the 21st century that I enjoy watching with a very intriguing plot

I used to be a die hard fan of all of those sci-fi franchises, especially Doctor Who. I was one of the cringy 15 year old fans but I was annoyed with every other 15 year old girl who liked it because they were like “ooh romance” and I was like “SPACE”

I’m sick of “strong” female characters. Actual strong characters, both male and female, don’t whine about their situation, don’t always try to prove that they’re better than everyone else, they aren’t automatically perfect in everything, actual good strong characters in film are characters that are thrown out of their comfort zone and experience a lot of personal growth
