Bladerunner 2049 is a cinematic masterpiece
There's gonna be a sequal for Dune?
I suppose it'll be a bittersweet experience for you
Have you seen The Arrival? It's another film by Villeneuve
It is great
Right? Anything that gives off a Lovecraftian vibe is intriguing
I haven't seen that one
I like Charlize Theron. Come to think of it, Tom Hardy was in that one too right? Well they were both on Mad Max: Fury Road
Ah, for some reason I thought I saw Tom Hardy in the trailer for it
Lmao it was MacAvoy, I'm a fucking idiot
I'm not beating myself up over it lol
Big facts
Hunger Games was terrible. Most film adaptations of books are terrible
I remember liking the first Maze Runner film because it stuck to the source material. But the rest were utter shit
The books are great. I loved that series in middle school
There's a fourth book that serves as a prequel, that one is the most interesting in my opinion
I can't remember the name, let me search it up
The Kill Order
I'm a bit foggy on the details but it basically covers the inception of the scorch disease and offers a deeper look into the dystopian environment of the Maze Runner universe
I specifically remember this one part where a character was painting various plants with pollen in order to maintain their crops
Just thinking about that really makes you appreciate bees and flies haha
Right. I've got a soft spot for it. Especially anything that falls under the cyberpunk genre
And nay, I have not
RIGHT!?
I'm hyped for it
I found out about it back in 2015, and it's been in production since the 2000s
I know, I watched all 48 minutes of it haha
I can't get enough of the cyberpunk genre
Bladerunner is credited for birthing cyberpunk
Have you ever seen Ghost in the Shell (not the live action film) or Akira? And who are they?
Ohhhh yeah that's right, "Do Robots Dream of Electric Sheep". And I've never heard of Neuromancer; let me dive down this rabbit hole really quick
Hasta luego
We are the all singing, all dancing crap of the world
I am Jack's inflamed sense of rejection
Well if you didn't have either, would that also mean that your body is void of any testosterone ane estrogen?
*and
Yeah but would you even need either? If you have no reproductive value then there would probably be no point in having either one. Unless of course they serve other purposes aside from sexual reproduction; which they probably do, but I wouldn't know
Yeah that makes sense. Kinda like how our cells unintentionally began using mitochondria as a means for energy production
So if that could have been the case then testosterone could very well be in the same boat. Okay, now I get what you're saying
This just opened up a door inside my mind. I suppose this is where biological engineering comes into play. We could begin to redesign the human structure as we know it. We could abandon any weaknesses we have as a species and evolve by artificial means
I suppose the only thing keeping us from doing so would be ethics
No but I've been told by my friend on multiple occasions to watch it
It's definitely an interesting idea to ponder
This is all reminding me of one of the endings of Bloodborne. In this particular ending, you become a Great One. At that point, you've pretty much abandoned your humanity. You're an omnipotent being who's free to grow and expand, so why would you care about humanity.? The same thing happens in Ghost in the Shell. Major feels trapped, free only to grow and expand within the confinement of her artificial body. So I suppose it all depends on how much potential you want to fulfill
Isn't Dr. Manhattan stronger than Superman in the DCU?
I never really got into Marvel or DC comics
I remember BONE
I just had a flashback to elementary school
Sex isn't exactly at the forefront of my mind so probably not
With STDs and what not
Once you interact with a female in a sexual manner she instantly becomes a liability. So it's easier just to stay away from that bs and worry about yourself
Define "alternative". Do you mean in the sense of what a woman can potentially provide to a man or an alternative to sexual reproduction? Because for one, we don't need women. All a woman does is provide a relief for sexual tension and companionship; both of which aren't necessary for our survival as men. Our needs and our wants are oceans apart. Now when it comes to sexual reproduction, that's where I think it gets tricky. Sure we can have test tube babies and skip the sex all together; however, I doubt that'll happen any time soon.
True, the expression of one's own ideas and thoughts is extremely limited. That's why you hear people say things like, "It's hard to put into words". Finding a way to articulate your thoughts can be difficult at times
If you're talking about sex robots then that's an alternative to what women can provide. Instead of going to a woman for sex you can go to a sex bot. But the fact remains, you don't need to have sex; you want to. However, you can't be blamed for that. It's only natural to have a desire for sex. But to deny your sexual nature as a man is what MGTOW is about, right?
How much like a woman should it be? Well I guess that depends on the consumer. For all intents and purposes the machine was built to reproduce; so it doesn't need to resemble a woman. However, it depends on the consumer whether or not it is to resemble a woman. I'd imagine that the manufacturer would allow full customization of said machine, so whether or not it resembles a woman is, again, up to the consumer
At that point it'd pretty much be like Bladerunner 2049. A bioengineered human. Then we'd have the same ethical issues that the universe of Bladerunner has
Well then I suppose if that were the case then it would have to essentially be an artificial woman. But if you wanted to avoid the hypergamous nature of women, it would have to be engineered to adhere to it's owner. They could be designed from the bottom up. They could be lifeless husks that exist only to please it's owner or it could have a limited amount of intelligence. It's entirely subject to the machine's owner as to how human the machine will be. @Seven Of Swords
What is this? Lmao
Like I said, it's entirely subjective to the consumer
The root of human evolution exists on our DNA. I'd imagine we'd be able to find the answer to artificial wombs there
Who knows ๐คทโโ๏ธ This all hypothetical, the advent of artificial women is unknown
Wtf
Why did those emojis show up
Men should just abandon Earth and live out the rest of our days on Mars with Elon Musk
His podcast with Joe Rogan was wicked
He said he got his inspiration to sell flamethrowers from Spaceballs haha
<:c12:480188423844528128>
I second that
The values and wants of a man are subjective to the man himself
I haven't any idea as to what you're referring to @the adventures male
Real Doll website, alright
So you're saying we need to support sex doll companies? @the adventures male
I wouldn't mind investing in it, it'll certainly become a profitable industry in the future
So it's uncensored?
It seems like an exclusive social media website but idk, I've never heard of it until now @the adventures male
How did you get here if you don't know what MGTOW is? ๐ค
*Y tf my pp hard* <:1023:480186116222353410>
California seems like a terrible place to live
I prefer the midwest
I definitely won't let a particular preference in location dictate my potential, I'm just saying that I prefer the midwest. I definitely don't plan on confining myself to this region, but I wouldn't mind spending my elderly years here
Building a house would definitely make having a home more meaningful
Just live out in the middle of nowhere and run fiberoptics to your house lmao
The desire for companionship? ๐ค
Just name the song
I'll peep
The cover art is dope
I like the production
"Yo, the more degrading I get, the more these ladies get wet" lmao
What kinda music do you guys fuck with?
Good morning men <:231zmu:480186119485390849>
Did you know you can fertilize your lawn with motor oil?
What was the topic for the presentation?
Mathematics is only fun when you actually apply it to something useful
Simple mathematics, like Ohm's law is fun
I'm excited for the military
I'm going into Aerospace Propulsion for the Air Force <:151:480186113990852608>
Hopefully, there's actually quite a bit of men in the service who either have a spouse before enlisting or get hitched while at tech school
Isn't that a new movie? I think I saw a trailer for it. It's about the the inception of man's companionship with wolves/dogs, right?
I barely even remembered the trailer I saw for it. I'm guessing it's a low-budget movie and they couldn't afford that much advertising
