They showed them something flying by on a projector screen with a landscape. They saw it for 2 or 3 seconds and after that they had to draw it. Nearly all of the "Witnesses" drew something different from each other. And that was minutes after they saw it.
And I read somewhere that dreams alter your longterm memory and that evrytime you actively remember something, there is a possibility, that your brain changes the memory a bit and over time details get lost or wrong.
