I really hate the period of 1960 to 1989
The period against Russia
Alex does communism work?
Sorry if I have not know since I am a communist
1989 Tiananmen Square event was a good turning point of fixing Sino-Soviet/Russian relations
That was pretty unique
Do we even have any Chinese speakers here ?
Can anyone teach me Chinese?

We are under nationalist raid. Keep discipline.

早上好 is an example

most young people wont care about 您/你 but adults will

Whats a good way to get used to hearing tones
Tones are big issue for me in conversational chinese

Anyone got good book recommendations for Chinese politics?
@Jonn Since NEP(market economy runned by communist) is Lenin's idea read him on it.
I mean current politics in China. Y'know that insider shit. I've got some books, but want to know if there's more. It will be hard me not knowing chinese though
im leegit chinese
I was reading Richard McGregor
The Party: The Secret World of China's Communist Rulers
This was supposed to give some info on the "Jiang faction" thay I saw people crying about on some chats
Think it's best to just switch straight to the one you sent?
you should read all of them
or whichever ones you're comfortable with
@Deleted User I plan to but didn't know which would be best to start with. Probably doesn't matter though
you should continue with what you're already reading
Thanks will do
The guo wengui stuff I read recently really motivated me to want to study the politics itself more closely(or what you can see of it)
american plot to destabilize china tbh
That's the initial feeling I had that the cia was behind it. The timing before the 2017 party conference(?) Is too suspicious, but it is still very interesting
me eat cat
CIA is involved in everyone's shit
Internal and external someone needs to put them in their place but no one actually cares
read some of Sun Yat Sens works as well
This book by Cheng Li is a pretty rough read. I started to skip around once I got to the Education chapter. I am now reading about more about Factions. Very interesting stuff. Definitely didn't think abpout this aspect of very differing factions oddly
glad you are enjoying it
@Jonn read this as well. it is absolutely paramount to understanding chinese history.
it is debated today even wether sun yat sen would have preffered socialism or nationalism, so it is still very very important
Wew from cheng li's book. The Hu camp seems to have the younger generation of the party locked up heavily. This next decade will be very interesting
Yeah I just read their educational background for the Hu camp. That isn't a good setup to run a nation. I'm excited to read the three principles of the people if it helps to get a better understanding. This Ching Li book is very informative for learning about the government structure and current positions of the government, but it still feels like that insider feel to get a better grasp of the society/governing society is missing. I guess that is difficult to do with something as opaque as the Chinese government though. His book isn't trying to do that either and it succeeds in what it is trying. I am just starting the Protege section now
Thank you very much for these book recommendations
no problem at all
🍜 mao zendongu did nothing wrongu 🍜
Good representation of Chinese citizens? Anyone read it?
PING PONG CHING LING
PING PONG CHING LING
Post good Chinese youtubes/podcasts. I know of "The Little Red Podcast" and that's it
despite having iconically nationalistic ideas, Sun Yat Sen is revered in the mainland
even though their form of government does not fit his model
your just fucked
What are you if not a communist?
I thought the blue-field white-sun would have been sufficient
a nationalist on lefty pol
leftism nowadays is anything but nationalism
there are notsocs here as well
and fascists as well as loser ancaps
I don't want to stay in this place
you don't have to
I am just saying the spam is kind of self-harming if you're disrupting a place for discussion where even your own like to participate and contribute
they can come to pol if they want a worthwhile discussion
lefty pol is a bastard clone
I don't browse leftypol
the board, anyways.
I have seen more actual debate here than in the other servers
Oh look, spam.
you're all disgraces to my country.
That's not very specific.
>Goes in the Chinese chat
>Sees no chinese
Didn't know there was so much Chinese people who were actually communist
well there are
it is more to do with liking China and Chinese things though
you could say people are "content".
I've been to the mainland about 5 times
Where my mum was born
atleast you went to a cultural city
most "tourists" will go to shanghai and call it quits
