Do I really have to?
@ETBrooD No, a strawman would be assuming from your claim that Christianity did not build the West, that the white race built the West and that the only basis we have for supremacy is whiteness and not Christian ethic.
We have temporal supremacy brought about by being the first nation to industrialise
Whiteness and Christianity are -broadly- irrelevent, causally
Yeah, so irrelevant that we aren't pooping in the streets.
We were
Public sanitation came after industrialisation
Your strawman was to say that I think Christian authoritarianism did nothing good ever
Why do you say Jesus isn't real?
He wasn't
Prove to me he was
Give an example of Christian authoritarianism in the west
Really? Then where did Christianity come from?
The fantasy of a few men
Twelve men who were all tortured to death for refusing to recant it?
All twelve?
Died for a lie?
I don't believe what's written in the Bible
Most of it was made up
FUcking Watergate didn't have that level of success.
And?
There were only five people invovled and one cracked under the pressure.
People back then didn't care about proof as much as we do today
Wow, this went into the weeds quickly
You don't think twelve people who were literally tortured to death for this belief would have confessed to it being false>
All invented
There's no proof these people even existed
There is no proof you exist
So did the Romans just lie about the insurrections?
It was a false flag, dude! The Romans were being run by space lizards!
What I'm saying is that there's a lot of fiction surrounding real events
Jesus is one of those fictional stories
People don't die for a lie.
HAHAHAHA
They put chemicals in the aqueducts to turn the legionairres gay!
Let me screenshot that for later reference

People don't die for a lie? Millions have died over human history over religion-derived conflict
You have actually read the accounts of Jesus' death, right? Several of the disciples cracked under the pressure and denied they knew him or killed themselves.
And then they all claim he came back from the dead, and not even torture or crucifixion could make them admit otherwise?
Why would they do that?
All made up
WHy?
Why not?
Because people don't hold up to torture that well for something they know is a ruse.
It's the martyr angle
They hold up fine when they know there's no out
You clearly don't understand the human condition if you think people don't die for false beliefs
Are you willing to die for atheism?
Look at the people prepared to die to prevent brexit, for instance
Depends on the circumstances
@Eccles No one is willing to die to prevent Brexit. They are trying to prevent Brexit out of self-interest, because they think they WILL die if Brexit happens.
Thats the opposite of martyrdom, that's cowardice.
Oops you just gave one reason for why people die for false beliefs
Hint: there's more
Okay smartass. What do you think a world populated entirely by atheists would look like?
No clue, except there would be new religions that we don't define as such right now
Too many people can't live without religion, many just invent one if they don't have one
Why is that? Obviously YOU can live without religion. You and your big brain!
Yeah I can
That doesn't mean the world can follow into my footsteps
Your brain is so big you point at a statue and say "That's not real!"
Dogma can exist without a god. A world populated by atheists can be summed up adequately in an episode of South Park.
Yeah
"That person never existed he's just a figment of someone's imagination, that's why they made a statue of him because they're stupid!"
The failure is not in what we do not know, but in the fact that we are human
Take feminism for example, that is a religion in everything but name
Oh, but Christianity is worse because I watched Hunchback of Notre Dame.
lol
Actually it wasn't even an episode, I think it was a trilogy of episodes, and a damn good trilogy too.
I'm not a good person because I'm Atheist
You have to realize it's not just "the least possible evil" it's "the greatest force for good."
I don't think Christians are better or worse people than Atheists
Oh, but we can't have Christians in charge!!
Why not?
I'm not a good person because I hold positions that the grand majority of living humans would call "not good"
I hold the ad-populum in being bad.
Because I don't believe what they believe, and since I care about my freedom of thought and speech, I will fight against Christian authoritarianism, because they would restrict my freedom
Christians INVENTED your freedom.
No they did not
Anyone with a dogma will want that dogma to be their basis of society.
Oh, so it's GOD who gave you your freedoms!
?
I'm an atheist, remember?
And an idiot. If your rights are not manmade, then what are they?
No one gives me freedom
I have freedom, it can only be taken from me
Not given
Then you have none.
lol
"You have no freedom if someone is bigger and badder"
They are manmade, but they have been decided over years of history, societal progression, and instinctual intuition.
We are man, we have made these concepts. Therefore they are manmade.
We are also a product of nature
So they are also natural
It seems that you argue that a christian president would automatically lead to christian authoritarianism @ETBrooD Or am I reading that wrong?
No that's not my argument
@TEABAG!!! wants straight up Christian authoritarianism installed
Well in the USA right now you cannot become president without calling yourself christian
That's part of the dogma working
That's true actually
@Lios Can you give me chapter and verse on that? I've literally never seen it come up in the last 16 years of elections.
