2019-08-27 12:59:21 UTC

Itโ€™s real. @leavethisbotnet

2019-08-27 12:59:24 UTC

GB citizen can go to Ireland but not to continental europe

2019-08-27 12:59:33 UTC

Then de facto leaving NI inside the EU

2019-08-27 12:59:56 UTC

We can go anywhere

2019-08-27 13:00:01 UTC

Freely too

2019-08-27 13:00:10 UTC

I hear Luxembourg has a powerful navy.

2019-08-27 13:00:12 UTC

At least until the 31st of October

2019-08-27 13:00:16 UTC

We can swim anywhere freely

2019-08-27 13:00:22 UTC

Or you can just limit this to residents of Ireland, not all EU citizens

2019-08-27 13:00:41 UTC

Then break one of the fundamental agreements of the EU.

2019-08-27 13:00:55 UTC

Which one?

2019-08-27 13:01:00 UTC

Free movement of people and labour throughout the whole Sczen

2019-08-27 13:01:02 UTC

I canโ€™t spell it

2019-08-27 13:01:05 UTC

Itโ€™s foreign

2019-08-27 13:01:22 UTC

NI won't be in the EU, you moron

2019-08-27 13:01:30 UTC

therefore no freedom of movement to NI

2019-08-27 13:01:35 UTC

except for the Irish

2019-08-27 13:01:37 UTC

it's that simple

2019-08-27 13:02:01 UTC

@Ethreen42 She says Belgium in the current tweet and there are no archives, so who knows, yo

2019-08-27 13:02:39 UTC

ok good

2019-08-27 13:02:45 UTC

@leavethisbotnet But ROI will be

2019-08-27 13:02:53 UTC

Yes, and?

2019-08-27 13:03:07 UTC

And the ROI is part of the EU, thus the movement to Ireland continues

2019-08-27 13:03:19 UTC

Yes, but not NI

2019-08-27 13:03:30 UTC

Then whatโ€™s to stop people from just walking over the โ€˜electronicโ€™ border?

2019-08-27 13:03:33 UTC

Nothing.

2019-08-27 13:03:43 UTC

a big beautiful wall

2019-08-27 13:03:44 UTC

The only way to stop that is through a hard border

2019-08-27 13:03:46 UTC

Weez, the point is making is that the UK can accept freedom of movement with Ireland and northern Ireland but nowhere else as we wont need to abide by EU regulations anymore. It'd then be down to the EU to grant the same freedom of movement to NI citizens to Ireland.

2019-08-27 13:03:53 UTC

Which breaks the Good Friday agreement

2019-08-27 13:03:57 UTC

If they refuse, it also puts the EU in a bad light <:smugon:512048583806025739>

2019-08-27 13:04:09 UTC

What stops people from doing that RIGHT NOW?

2019-08-27 13:04:21 UTC

Nothing

2019-08-27 13:04:23 UTC

Weโ€™re in the EU.

2019-08-27 13:04:26 UTC

EU is literally using the "we're gonna be dicks for the sake of leverage" argument

2019-08-27 13:04:37 UTC

you know, the people who are not EU citizens and therefore can't just go across the channel..

2019-08-27 13:04:53 UTC

@Mikey The EU has already said theyโ€™re not going to start โ€˜choppingโ€™ things up

2019-08-27 13:04:55 UTC

the ones that are sneaking into trucks in france

2019-08-27 13:05:01 UTC

Or breaking their fundamental agreements

2019-08-27 13:05:05 UTC

why don't THEY just go through Ireland and NI

2019-08-27 13:05:06 UTC

?

2019-08-27 13:05:10 UTC

if it's so easy

2019-08-27 13:05:16 UTC

Because thereโ€™s no need at the moment

2019-08-27 13:05:20 UTC

Thereโ€™s an easier route..

2019-08-27 13:05:27 UTC

People take the easiest route possible

2019-08-27 13:05:31 UTC

Then there's no issue with the Irish border.

2019-08-27 13:05:34 UTC

If we leave. That becomes if.

2019-08-27 13:05:34 UTC

That's sorted.

2019-08-27 13:05:36 UTC

It *

2019-08-27 13:05:43 UTC

You mean the route that has hard border?

2019-08-27 13:05:49 UTC

and border checks?

2019-08-27 13:06:06 UTC

Yes, they allow all EU citizens through that border,

2019-08-27 13:06:09 UTC

but not others

2019-08-27 13:06:19 UTC

The ROI and NI border?

2019-08-27 13:06:27 UTC

Or the ROI border with the EU?

2019-08-27 13:06:34 UTC

No, the border between France and GB

2019-08-27 13:06:58 UTC

that's the one with border checks

2019-08-27 13:07:05 UTC

Correct.

2019-08-27 13:07:16 UTC

yet that's the route many illegals take

2019-08-27 13:07:22 UTC

instead of going through ROI and NI

2019-08-27 13:07:23 UTC

Because itโ€™s the easiest.

2019-08-27 13:07:26 UTC

Correct.

2019-08-27 13:07:41 UTC

So, how will that change when UK exits?

2019-08-27 13:08:00 UTC

Why should then suddenly be the route through ROI and NI the easier one

2019-08-27 13:08:01 UTC

?

2019-08-27 13:08:08 UTC

Because the EU will place more checks at that GB FR border

2019-08-27 13:08:14 UTC

More resources there

2019-08-27 13:08:29 UTC

Meaning a more attractive way, would be to travel to the ROI

2019-08-27 13:08:37 UTC

Where there are no checks currently

2019-08-27 13:08:48 UTC

That is pure speculation on your part

2019-08-27 13:08:52 UTC

Though, it will be more expensive

2019-08-27 13:09:06 UTC

Go look at boat trips across the channel and from France to ROI

2019-08-27 13:09:17 UTC

fact is, there already is hard border between FR and GB and illegals still choose it over ROI and NI

2019-08-27 13:09:19 UTC

Iโ€™ll tell you this now. The ROI one is more expensive.

2019-08-27 13:09:32 UTC

It'll most likely just be like it is for travelling in the EU. If you're an EU citizen, you go through one checkpoint, if you're not you go through another.
Britain will most likely do this with NI/Ireland border. If you're Irish, you go through one checkpoint and get in with ease, if you're not Irish, you go through another checkpoint and need a VISA or further checks.

2019-08-27 13:09:37 UTC

These piss poor people trying to get across donโ€™t have much money.

2019-08-27 13:09:59 UTC

And then we will be breaking the Good Friday agreement..

2019-08-27 13:10:00 UTC

Fucking poor ppl, lmao

2019-08-27 13:10:08 UTC

Let them eat cake

2019-08-27 13:10:12 UTC

UBI em

2019-08-27 13:10:16 UTC

And even if you had border checks between ROI and NI, that's still and long land border. What are you gonna do with that? Build a fence?

2019-08-27 13:10:37 UTC

Thatโ€™s your job to find out.. Not mine

2019-08-27 13:10:51 UTC

Youโ€™re the people speculating about alternatives

2019-08-27 13:10:58 UTC

european civilization is dying the only way to save it is to destroy the EU

2019-08-27 13:11:06 UTC

Iโ€™m just telling you if they break arranged agreements or not

2019-08-27 13:11:23 UTC

It's already the "harder" route than one directly through border checks.

2019-08-27 13:11:54 UTC

Therefore hard border between ROI and NI isn't really necessary

2019-08-27 13:12:06 UTC

Correct, it isnโ€™t.

2019-08-27 13:12:13 UTC

I think this worry of non-Irish nationals getting through the Irish/NI border isn't a huge issue tbh
Considering it's an island, it's just as hard to get to Ireland illegally as it is GB. It's not like travelling through the mainland.

2019-08-27 13:12:18 UTC

Keeping us in accord with the Good Friday agreement.

2019-08-27 13:12:33 UTC

But then when someone walks into NI, theyโ€™re in GB.

2019-08-27 13:12:38 UTC

Meaning they can go anywhere

2019-08-27 13:12:39 UTC

We should just unite Ireland entirely and then nuke it <:smugon:512048583806025739>

2019-08-27 13:12:55 UTC

we must return to what made Europe great there for all of the Values that the EU promotes must be destroyed such as this idea of "equality" we should demand freedom not Equality

2019-08-27 13:13:11 UTC

Imagine thinking that NI is not rightfully part of the Republic, smh

2019-08-27 13:13:33 UTC

You just agreed that hard border isn't necessary.

2019-08-27 13:13:33 UTC

@tea_in_space Yes yes Mr. Mikke, we know.

2019-08-27 13:13:39 UTC

I donโ€™t recognise illegitimate warmongering terror states @Tonight at 11 - DOOM

2019-08-27 13:13:50 UTC

@Weez You mean the UK?

2019-08-27 13:13:53 UTC
