2020-12-09 18:16:26 UTC

K, here guys

2020-12-09 18:16:41 UTC

What about the Dead Sea Scrolls, they weren't even discovered until the 1950s or so. Meaning that just because they haven't been discovered doesn't mean they never existed.

2020-12-09 18:17:22 UTC

The dead sea scrolls were also found in a pace uniquely favorable to the survival of such records...

2020-12-09 18:17:47 UTC

IF records of those events had existed, they certainly did not by the time of Jesus's death

2020-12-09 18:17:51 UTC

That's like before 1492 saying North America NEVER existed because it was never discovered.

2020-12-09 18:18:10 UTC

Suddenly North America always existed since it was then discovered

2020-12-09 18:18:50 UTC

So you're saying there's no way new records could be discovered ?

2020-12-09 18:18:57 UTC

They're actually books named after the people who wrote them, Matthew Mark Luke John

2020-12-09 18:19:05 UTC

The disciples that were actually with Jesus at the time he was walking the earth

2020-12-09 18:19:10 UTC

Think about it... let's take for example the flood and Noah's Ark... let's just put aside, for a minute, the improbability of getting ALL of those animals and humans on a boat the size quoted in the Bible. Do you REALLY think ANY record of that event would have survived that cataclysm??

2020-12-09 18:19:14 UTC

Just a few years ago they uncovered something new in Jerusalem that they're saying could've been where Jesus was.

2020-12-09 18:20:03 UTC

Yes I do

2020-12-09 18:20:18 UTC

Right, you're right. What if the evidence of the ark never survived? How then can you prove it's just a story and never existed ?

2020-12-09 18:20:19 UTC

It took more than 500 years for them to find King Richard III.... you REALLY think we would EVER find the ACTUAL remains of Jesus??

2020-12-09 18:20:50 UTC

Of course we wouldn't find a remains of Jesus, that didn't even find them three days later when they searched the grave

2020-12-09 18:20:55 UTC

I never said that the ark never existed. I said any written records from that time likely could not have

2020-12-09 18:21:15 UTC

and the improbability of the ark story REALLY lends doubt to the stroy itself

2020-12-09 18:21:30 UTC

He was never actually interred Toony...

2020-12-09 18:21:31 UTC

But then how can you say that those events aren't factual, and only allegory ?

2020-12-09 18:21:47 UTC

Do you REALLY think the Romans would have given him or allowed such an honor??

2020-12-09 18:22:07 UTC

You know whom could've allowed it over any humans, right ?

2020-12-09 18:22:20 UTC

God can make anything happen, people can't forget that.

2020-12-09 18:22:28 UTC

We so limit God in what He has the power to do

2020-12-09 18:22:29 UTC

Yes I believe they would have

2020-12-09 18:22:30 UTC

Because the events described in that book are fantastical to the point of fiction... we KNOW how some things work in this world... like writing, weathering, etc...

2020-12-09 18:23:02 UTC

AND... the book was written WAY after the events

2020-12-09 18:23:14 UTC

According to scholars and scientists

2020-12-09 18:23:17 UTC

The book was not written way after the events, they were written during

2020-12-09 18:23:19 UTC

NO story survives exact and intact through word of mouth telling...

2020-12-09 18:23:36 UTC

No... there is absolutely NO text of a bible from that time

2020-12-09 18:23:38 UTC

They were not written on the paper that we used today

2020-12-09 18:23:43 UTC

Yes there is

2020-12-09 18:24:02 UTC

So again, if we discover texts in the future, then you would be wrong, lol ?

2020-12-09 18:24:06 UTC

No... they would have been something like papyrus... but papyrus is still subject to the ravages of time

2020-12-09 18:24:13 UTC

NOTHING is immune to that

2020-12-09 18:24:21 UTC

God is immune to that

2020-12-09 18:24:30 UTC

You're discounting the Bible as allegory based on that ALL evidence would already be gathered

2020-12-09 18:24:34 UTC

But papyrus and other materials are not

2020-12-09 18:24:48 UTC

If God wanted to make something exist that long, it will exist that long

2020-12-09 18:24:50 UTC

I never once said I discounted the bible

2020-12-09 18:25:01 UTC

You said those stories are mere allegory

2020-12-09 18:25:03 UTC

Not factual.

2020-12-09 18:25:13 UTC

Sounds like discounting...

2020-12-09 18:25:25 UTC

I am actually a person of deep faith... but my faith IS tempered by what we know of science. God did not give us intelligence so we could just be blind sheep

2020-12-09 18:25:53 UTC

Yeah that's why we have to question what the so-called scientists are saying

2020-12-09 18:26:00 UTC

even the Vatican has scientific teams doing geology, astronomy, astrophysics, etc...

2020-12-09 18:26:10 UTC

But he also didn't set in stone that everything that science shows us is 100% prrof of anything

2020-12-09 18:26:13 UTC

I AM a scientist toony

2020-12-09 18:26:30 UTC

I don't trust the Vatican, and I don't trust the pope

2020-12-09 18:26:37 UTC

Carbon dating is proof... the speed of light is proof, etc..

2020-12-09 18:26:37 UTC

The Vatican literally has a telescope that's named Lucifer

2020-12-09 18:26:46 UTC

I mean, we're discovering things in quantum physics and mechanics that are beginning to question Einstein's theory of relativity, which was seen as fact for a long time

2020-12-09 18:27:15 UTC

I don't trust the pope... but I do trust the SCIENTISTS at the Vatican. I also trust the scientists at numerous colleges and universities all over the world

2020-12-09 18:27:39 UTC

Nothing we have discovered so far breaks any of einstein's laws...

2020-12-09 18:27:51 UTC

Just because scientists make a discovery, it doesn't mean it's 100% fact and will never be challenged

2020-12-09 18:27:59 UTC

the ONLY thing we have found so far that breaks any of those laws is the BB itself...

2020-12-09 18:28:18 UTC

That's the thing about science, it always follows the money, never the facts

2020-12-09 18:28:45 UTC

Of course science is challenged. otherwise it's not science. But there are things is science that are hard and immutable facts... things such as the speed of light, speed of sound, carbon decay, etc

2020-12-09 18:28:46 UTC

Einstein became famous for a whole bunch of theories that he couldn't improve

2020-12-09 18:28:57 UTC

Sorry I'm doing talk to text 😅

2020-12-09 18:29:16 UTC

Still, according to the scientists. ANY science can be flawed.

2020-12-09 18:29:17 UTC

You think these college scientists get MONEY?? lmao... you have never been in a university science dept then

2020-12-09 18:29:28 UTC

Oh my gosh! I'm sorry I have missed out on this conversation! This is my kind of discussion!!! Love it!

2020-12-09 18:29:46 UTC

Those things that are hard and fast facts like I mentioned about can not be flawed...

2020-12-09 18:29:48 UTC

No that's when they get used by the professors who earn the money

2020-12-09 18:30:04 UTC

GamersForTrump, you wanna get caught up first ?

2020-12-09 18:30:09 UTC

We can hold a pause in the chat

2020-12-09 18:30:11 UTC

LOL... you think university professors get money and get rish off of this??

2020-12-09 18:30:22 UTC

Again, you have never been in a University science dept

2020-12-09 18:30:34 UTC

Don't need to be to see the corruption

2020-12-09 18:31:05 UTC

It's dangerous to label an entire profession as corrupt

2020-12-09 18:31:21 UTC

I believe it's more dangerous to believe a whole entire profession just because they call themselves scientists

2020-12-09 18:31:23 UTC

Okay, then maybe not. Can we take a pause ?

2020-12-09 18:31:31 UTC

My father was an astronomer and astrophysicist... he had Ph. Ds in both

2020-12-09 18:31:39 UTC

Yeah I could take a pause, my b

2020-12-09 18:31:43 UTC

Creation is still learning about itself. Science, knowledge, facts are evolving as creation does.

2020-12-09 18:31:47 UTC

I would take exception to anyone calling him, or anyone he worked with, corrupt

2020-12-09 18:32:27 UTC

I also have degrees in 2 types of science fields...

2020-12-09 18:32:33 UTC

@GamersForTrump We also spoke about this in general chat if you wanna get caught up there.

2020-12-09 18:32:37 UTC

I would take exception to being called corrupt as well

2020-12-09 18:32:56 UTC

@JunoBlade Could you pause just for a little bit while Gamers gets caught up, lol ?

2020-12-09 18:33:08 UTC

I know quite a lot of people that work in and research in science departments at universities... not a single one of them is corrupt

2020-12-09 18:33:17 UTC

and they are ALL in it for the love of their field

2020-12-09 18:33:25 UTC

Intellect always wants to be king. The greatest and ascended masters who have walked this planet had knowing beyond the intellect.

2020-12-09 18:35:23 UTC

It's Obvious, toony, that you don't KNOW any of the scientists who work in these places.

2020-12-09 18:35:47 UTC

Can I interject something ?

2020-12-09 18:36:21 UTC

I'd like to show a short clip from a movie. Yeah it's just a movie but he makes a point that is so true.

2020-12-09 18:36:36 UTC

Go for it!!

2020-12-09 18:37:06 UTC

It sums up this whole discussion in a minute lol

2020-12-09 18:38:26 UTC

And those changes in perspective were driven by SCIENCE.

2020-12-09 18:38:51 UTC

But you sound like all of these things are factual even though you admit that science can change

2020-12-09 18:38:59 UTC

if anyone needs any explanation of the technical stuff in that wikpedia page let me know

2020-12-09 18:39:03 UTC

Meaning that things of fact will always be fact

2020-12-09 18:39:20 UTC

I said that SOME things in science are FACT... I cited them above

2020-12-09 18:39:33 UTC

we use those things we KNOW to be true to figure out other things

2020-12-09 18:39:37 UTC

What if those things end up being updated from future science

2020-12-09 18:39:49 UTC

We KNOW how fast light travels... and we can use that to estimate distances
