we use those things we KNOW to be true to figure out other things

What if those things end up being updated from future science

We KNOW how fast light travels... and we can use that to estimate distances

Light travels as fast as light travels... it's not changable

There's a reason it's still known as a theory

The speed of it doesn't change but the MEASUREMENT of it can

relativity is still the prevailing rule however... we have found nothing that can break it.
