It's gone from creationist, to rapist, to word salad, to scam artist, to pedophile

So I just watched Timcast's video "Buzzfeed Writers Lie About Social Media Bias" and he mentioned a "Centrist Test." I googled up a test because I've never really thought about my political stance. To be honest, I think the test I took has some flaws, and, I didn't really understand some of the questions so I'm sure my results are inaccurate but here are my results:
Economic Left/Right: 2.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.56
Does anyone have a more reliable test that I might take?

(Numbers range from -10 to 10, left to right respectively)

2018-09-14 10:56:41 UTC

I'm an Alt-Centrist

2018-09-14 10:57:00 UTC

Radical Alt-Centrists rise up

2018-09-14 10:57:10 UTC

russian bot!

2018-09-14 10:57:38 UTC

lol

2018-09-14 10:58:06 UTC

https://8values.github.io/

This is a commonly used political compass test

2018-09-14 10:58:40 UTC

You even get told what "faction" you most allign with

2018-09-14 10:59:01 UTC

so Neo-liberal, Neo-Conservative, Fascist, communist etc

2018-09-14 10:59:23 UTC

Taking it right now 😄

2018-09-14 11:01:10 UTC

"The means of production should belong to the workers who use them." - does this refer to things like an electrician's toolbox or a paramedic's stethescope?

2018-09-14 11:03:21 UTC

It basically means like for example, in a car factory

You have the big robot arms building the cars etc

2018-09-14 11:03:37 UTC

the machine arms are property of the company

2018-09-14 11:03:47 UTC

but in this case

2018-09-14 11:04:11 UTC

The company can't say "You can't use them for building things, they're our machines"

2018-09-14 11:04:23 UTC

so everyone is entitled to use them when the means of production belongs to the workers

2018-09-14 11:04:34 UTC

You could legally walk into a factory and use it to build your own thing

2018-09-14 11:04:38 UTC

No private property basically

2018-09-14 11:04:48 UTC

Oh I see...

2018-09-14 11:05:05 UTC

Well that would lead to a very different answer than what I put lol

2018-09-14 11:05:09 UTC

😛

2018-09-14 11:05:31 UTC

the basic idea of it is the socialist dream, where whatever is produced will not be SOLD for profit, but be given to those in need

2018-09-14 11:06:12 UTC

Okay what about this one

2018-09-14 11:06:56 UTC

"Children should be educated in religious or traditional values." - I would want children to be educated in as many major religions and as many traditions as possible from a humanities / world history perspective. But I would not want a school saying children should believe x, y , or z as their personal religion.

2018-09-14 11:07:04 UTC

so would that be an agree or a disagree?

2018-09-14 11:07:44 UTC

i'd go with the former, that its to just educate them, teach them

But not force it on them

2018-09-14 11:08:25 UTC

Alright thanks. 😄 I have to take my wife to work, brb in about 20 minutes

2018-09-14 11:08:30 UTC

oki

2018-09-14 11:34:45 UTC

back and I hate questions like this because it's so situational.

"We should open our borders to immigration."

I think a country that cannot support its current population does the world a disservice by accepting immigrants - and should probably be supporting emigration. On the other hand, a country of abundance should permit immigration.

So do I put agree or disagree? If I assume it is talking about today, right now, then I guess I have to put disagree because we cannot guarantee safety and a quality standard of living to immigrants with all of the civil unrest in the western region of the country, lack of opportunity in central-US, cost of living in north eastern US, and population growth in the south-eastern US. But that can all change in a matter of weeks... Maybe I should just put unsure...

2018-09-14 11:37:28 UTC

Anyway... I scored "Centrist" (at least I think the Centrist is the score and not the subtitle)

2018-09-14 11:38:17 UTC

I guess that's why I like Tim's channel so much 😄

2018-09-14 11:44:05 UTC

So i see the biggest arguement from the left being that so many of our ancestors came here as immigrants. We have had Ellis Island in the past for people to come in and become citizens. Maybe i am just nieve here, but what about opening a new version of that somewhere. A Place the people wanting to become citizens can go to and start the process officially. Just curious what people think of that and if it sounds like a crazy idea.

2018-09-14 11:45:12 UTC

Does that not already exist? I'm pretty ignorant on the subject.

2018-09-14 11:45:38 UTC

im not sure to be honest, ill ask the all seeing google real quick

2018-09-14 11:48:46 UTC

My understanding is that locations exist for immigrants can request asylum.

2018-09-14 11:48:46 UTC

only articles i can find quickly are rather old but looks like not

2018-09-14 11:49:19 UTC

ya and asylum is one thing, but legal immigration is another thing
