As TeddyTedman says, you can't 'convince' or 'convert' in the direct way. You can plant a seed, and you can then work towards influencing. Your goal in this is to make the person come to the conclusions you want, but think it is themselves that came to them

As far as negativity goes. If you do anything illegal to disrupt the system, don't do it in a way you'll get caught or killed. James Mason said that everyone part of the revolution is vital to the advancement of the cause

It's better to circumvent the system. Only die hard and really cleaver people can get away with disruptive activity and only do it so many times

If you do anything criminal in the eyes of the system, it's best to never implicate your own people, your beliefs or anything else. The effect is what really matters, the ego must be on the backseat.
I don't condone violence, but I do support material distruption and sabotage that hurts no one - and if it costs money it hurts the system more than if you hurt random people anyway.
