oh yeah, Tyrannical Rulers get torn apart by their subordinates within the House

2018-12-09 14:06:51 UTC

Legitimate ruler = leader of the party elected to form a govt in the UK. Period. 😉

2018-12-09 14:07:04 UTC

Are we talking about Germany?

2018-12-09 14:07:20 UTC

Queen Elizabeth is an illegitimate ruler?

2018-12-09 14:07:25 UTC

unless they tampered the votes and Merkel didn't win the coalition, then Merkel is in fact not legitimate 😄

2018-12-09 14:07:28 UTC

She's an elected Democratic Leader in a System born out of Regicide

2018-12-09 14:07:38 UTC

It is an illegitimate system that put her there

2018-12-09 14:08:10 UTC

Since i'm anti-monarchic, i don't consider any royal family to be legitimate rulers, unless they became king by rite of conquest

2018-12-09 14:08:19 UTC

```Queen Elizabeth is an illegitimate ruler?```
If she had actual power, yeah
2018-12-09 14:08:41 UTC
she's head of state. she doesnt actually rule ;P
2018-12-09 14:08:42 UTC
but most "western" monarchs are symbolic, most wrote away any real government power
2018-12-09 14:08:47 UTC
The English monarchy has been illegitimate since the time of Cromwell
2018-12-09 14:08:48 UTC
yup
2018-12-09 14:09:28 UTC
Hmm? Ah, because they were reinstated by the people?
2018-12-09 14:09:29 UTC
um, British, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, and a few other countries, not just "england" (england being a country that hasnt been an independant political entity since the early 1600s)
2018-12-09 14:09:42 UTC
I find monarchs in the west disgusting,
They get a royal salary
They're allowed to gain interest,
AND all their expenses are paid for by the government (aka the taxpayers)
So the monarchy is making money, and spending none
2018-12-09 14:10:23 UTC
I agree, monarchs need to retake control of their national governments. The current structure renders them little more than bloated ticks.
2018-12-09 14:10:24 UTC
actually after the pact signed by george III they technically lose money
2018-12-09 14:10:33 UTC
expenses incurred whilst on public duty, or staying in publically owned residences
2018-12-09 14:10:34 UTC
good
2018-12-09 14:10:37 UTC
the dutch one is making bank
2018-12-09 14:10:52 UTC
Monarchs in the West are disgusting tbh
2018-12-09 14:10:55 UTC
they lose about 210m a year
2018-12-09 14:10:57 UTC
#notall
2018-12-09 14:11:14 UTC
if they abdicated the throne they would make a lot more
2018-12-09 14:11:23 UTC
so, Zuckerberg gonna buy Buckingham Palace in 2030 yes? 😉
2018-12-09 14:11:39 UTC
hopefully not
2018-12-09 14:11:59 UTC
that's a messed up vision u just gave me
2018-12-09 14:12:03 UTC
😄
2018-12-09 14:12:45 UTC
Thats the thing tho with Monarchies, you cannot buy them unlike Politicians, they already have everything
2018-12-09 14:13:09 UTC
This was often brought up as a positive when Donald Trump ran for president.
2018-12-09 14:13:14 UTC
Aristocrats used to be less wealthy than the Merchants even then they had more power in practice
2018-12-09 14:13:20 UTC
"He's already a multibillionaire, what are they going to bribe him with?"
2018-12-09 14:13:37 UTC
Pretty much
2018-12-09 14:13:42 UTC
King Trump when
2018-12-09 14:14:41 UTC
all of their properties are rented out (under the george III agreement).. and all the rent income goes straight to the treasury(government)
2018-12-09 14:15:23 UTC
so people pay about 210m less in taxes... thx to the royal family...
2018-12-09 14:15:28 UTC
The British Monarchy is a Bunch of Land Agents in current year 😩
2018-12-09 14:15:33 UTC
see, now that i could support 😛
2018-12-09 14:16:03 UTC
if they abdicated... the people would need to pay an extra 210m in taxes
2018-12-09 14:16:06 UTC
ofc i'd rather see no monarchy, unless you have one by rite of conquest
