Never heard of an emergency reload, but there is a tactical and speed reload. Tactical is where you reload without firing off all your rounds. Speed is "fuck I'm dry, gotta reload".

Its an emergency because you went click when you should've went bang, or the bolt locked to the rear, and you need to keep sending rounds that second. Tactical is just like you said. Changing a partially spent mag for a fresh one when you have a pause in combat
