well no he doesnt neccessarily consent to being a father nor can he ever give that up, she can.
he could not have sex
Only if he isnt raped. But consent to sex is not consent to parenthood
yes it is, you're consenting to doing the act that creates life, and if you're not willing to accept that risk, don't do it
in no othersituation do we hold anyone accountable for something other than direct consequences. For example
if i am tasked to transport equipment and break it, i can be made to pay that damage, not any lost revenue resulting from it
so at most you could demand a father pay half an abortion, really
you have to keep in mind I'm against abortion in the first place because that's destruction of a human life, so that colors my opinion
You arent neccessarily consenting to it. Rape happens. And by the data we have it seems men are about if not more commonly the victim of a female rapist than vice versa
yes, rape happens, and that's different
but consensual sex should not be thought of as completely removed from creating children
that is biologically incorrect
Well currently men which were ELEVEN years old when having been raped are forced to pay childsupport
that is wrong
(not the statistic)
they shouldn't be, and the rapist should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, which is what shapiro is pushing for
Well i for one have no interest in having sex which is also why i can tell you... well, sex i snt that closely tied to children anymore. I dont want to have sex with a woman i may still become a father
Indeed, eggcells have been created from bloodcells. Could even have 2 biologicly male biological parents
I'm not arguing that it's the only method for having children, or even that the reason to have sex should be to have children, but that having children is an associated consequence that may occur
and it can't be ignored
How do you feel then about cases where the father wants custody? If thats denied would he still be forced to pay if it went after you?
if the father wants custody, it depends, if they both want custody, they can either have joint, or neither gets it, they should have equal opportunity to support the raising of their child
I’m thinking of rewriting The Great Gatsby but posting the title as “Plight of the Damned” and putting it up in Paris
Only change the characters and some Keywords
Would be real interesting to see how single fathers do compared to couples
Same gay shit, same jobs, and same interactions
probably terribly, just like single mothers
I noticed that in some new detergent ads the dad is at home
But I have to wonder if he’s actually married
im sure theyll do better than single mothers. Currently rare case but ive heard men say that it got a lot easier once the mother was out of the picture...
Of course
Top 100 answers on the board says
the cases in which a man gets custody are
No
Ugandan Chungus
currently uncommon cases
“That’ll hold em allwight.”
having two parents working together is generally the best solution, but while I think single fathers and single mothers will have differences in how they raise children, I can say from experience with my parents that neither single parent will be optimal for raising a child
whether one or the other is better is impossible to say on a broad scale due to sample size at the moment, but compared to a two parent household, I'm relatively confident that the difference is negligable
