though that's more common in personal injury law
not the individuals on twitter
well, for the class action
Thanks for the addition grenade. But idk it all depends if the kid gets assaulted. That is if he does. Hopefully he doesnt.
Libel and slander does not require assault
there is a video of evidence refuting the claims. If they do not publicly issue a retract of their stories, there might be a strong case of them knowingly spreading lies with intent to damage or harm. And that easy to prove with screenshots of people's reactions on twitter. It goes basically like this: You claim A, video refutes A and proves B, people react violently to A, you now refuse to publicly retract A despite it causing violent reactions and being proven wrong. Therefore you are knowingly spreading lies with the result of attempted harm.
Well i understand but wouldnt he also have to sue twitter for enaging in such acts of threatening?

unfortunately no. This is an issue caused by section 230, the like only surviving section of the Communications Decency Act. It protects them as if they are a platform, rather than a publisher. A newspaper and book publisher are responsible for what they allow to be published, even if they don't write it. a Platform is not. This was originally to allow online platforms to censor foul language while not being held responsibly as if they were a publisher, despite them acting like an editor like a publisher does.
this is what allows them to censor people and then prevent you from suing them
they can sue the individual who writes these tweets, or press possible criminal charges for threats. Actually, i believe assault is verbal, these people might be guilty of assault. Rather than battery which is the hands on part. but i feel that might be hard to win.
Assault is both physical and verbal
Depending on how the verbal part is addressed. In this case it is.. Since ppl do want to harm him or express the kid into getting harm.
assault is threats of violence, battery is the violence itself
^
but colloquially speaking, assault is the violence
it's only legally that there's a distinction really
yes.
this is why people get charged with assault AND battery
in common parlance, there's "threats of violence" and "assault," which legally are respectively assault and battery
though in many states, that's not the case either
it's different everywhere
things always get weird once you get down to the state
or past the state to local
some states have "communicating threats" and "assault"
you'll get something weird like "its only assault if its not on Sunday"
the new flag will be 13 stripes for the original colonies and 2 stars
1 star for the 49 states
and the other for New Jersey
😎
dont @ me
i wonder how bad twitter is today or if it has calmed any
Still pretty bad in some places. Some people seem to be doubling down or trying to argue from a different angle.
^
what angle now?
Why i dont want to have twitter. Have been seeing how crazy they are when they confront Tim, EVS, Ya boi zack or some other ppl.
yeah i avoid twitter for that reason^
The kids shouldnt have been there, the kids shouldve back down, the catholic school cant allow its kids to be political due to separation of church and state (Which is simply false), It's the chaperones fault, they were actually being racist and mocking him by not taking the hats off.
