@Thomas O'Malley Might have to cough up some dinero
eh, sometimes its worth it to pay someone else's way a bit, so you have experience of going with a friend instead of going alone or not going at all
So you didn't get the check?
No
They're slow with everything
Damn.
Is $100 good?
That's quite well good. Thank you
You're welcome.
I'm at work now so I'll make the transaction when I get home in a few hours.
My great grandma told my dad to not refuse 2 things: Help and money. I'm adding a third thing to it to tell my kids: food
unless its candy from strangers
😇
Okay I sent the money.
Got it. Thanks
It should post by tomorrow but I'll see if I can do the instant option. It shouldn't take out too much
When a mommy fly and a daddy fly really love each other, one lays on top and the other and they stay there unflinching
@Thomas O'Malley I've lost track of you
The second act has extended more than I had planned but soon I will move to greater ambitions.
I am really enjoying this.
@Valet the Clown what are you talking about?
I created a word cloud of the birth names of every US president and vice president.
I'm not sure why, but I like it
Thanks!

@ebowden would this work on earth with alcohol as a fuel?
I'm reading an anthology of short sci-fi stories and this is the intro to the next one in the book. A critical theorist (marxist) communications (propaganda) professor, and a fucking Tax Lawyer. For the first time ever I'm considering not reading a story because it's written by the marxist commie thieving scum who are ruining science fiction.
Why is being a communist or a "critical theorist" not grounds for ostracism in the modern West, as it should be?
And not only do these people not face any negative consequences for following and propagating an evil ideology, they enjoy a privileged position as professors, receiving a salary and teaching the next generation.
you know (((why)))
what a better way to subjugate people and prepare the way for the antichrist?
Honestly I'm not religious like you guys, but I feel like we converge on the same conclusions from a different starting point. My disgust is entirely for the practical consequences they're inflicting on our civilization. The hell of it is, these stories are good. The editor did a good job separating wheat from chaff. It just that knowing what these people stand for, and the calculated way they use the characters to promote their ideology, humanize, normalize, make it seem harmless, interesting, futuristic, is subtle and galling. They're systematically excluding the ideologically impure from the mainstream sci-fi community, too. If an author has ever expressed doubt about left-wing politics, or if they're religious, they are basically black-balled.
@Whiskey-Vargas What watermelon looked like circa 1610 to 1620.
