Expensive my dude
Huges admendment caused this
The semi-auto conversions for civilian use are finicky
Original Full-auto RPDs are incredibly reliable and they're still used today in heavy combat around the world even though they were designed in 1945
The RPK replaced the RPD in the 60s only so that standard infantry and machine gunners could interchange magazines so no one person ran out of ammo unless the entire squad ran out of ammo

jesus fuck
What the hell, why did the guy tried to shoot his hand 3 times?
yeah, I cringed multiple times
then was like 'oh okay, he's not going to... no wait, he's doing it again'
"It's okay, if you block the barrel, the bullet doesn't come out, see? Just like in cartoons. Let me do it again. Third time... OH FUCK!"
So have you guys heard about this? http://www.ladbible.com/news/news-china-has-developed-a-star-wars-style-laser-gun-20180703

"Invisible", except if you have night goggles.
Never mind if the window you want to shoot through blocks IR.
@Achlys @Baraban The IMI Galil is a milled AK-47 variant chambered in 5.56. Milled guns are very heavy compared to thin stamped guns. The high weight of the gun along with soft-shooting 5.56 made it have a negligent amount of recoil and it was very successfully used as a Squad Automatic Weapon. The reason that the IDF moved away from the Galil was simply because it was outdated. It was too heavy for standard infantry to carry for long durations of time, it didn't have picatinny rails to mount optics and accessories with ease, it used proprietary Galil magazines rather than standard NATO M16 magazines. It is a very beautiful and reliable weapon, but outdated for contemporary military use.
They moved to the m16... which is older
And the Galil was in service for like 5 years
the original M16 did not have picatinny rails. New M16s are considered one of the most modular infantry rifles in the world, you can customize one to pretty much do whatever your mission needs it to do, no matter what that mission is.
That's M4
Not M16
M4's are pretty great, though I'd probably prefer a Tavor
And I never heard anyone says M4 is better than a Tavor
I never got to try a Tavor though
Bullpups are rear-heavy and slower to reload
Sure but they are also smaller
an M4 is more practical for everything I think
Never heard anyone complains about them
I never heard of anyone in the IDF who prefers an M4
that's really interesting
I'm pretty sure a lot of it is kind of like a dick measuring thing
People prefer to have a Tavor for the same reason you might prefer a more expensive suit
It's something to brag about
whatever fits in your hand and whatever gets the job done
it doesnt matter
