FIRST PRINCIPLE. If a SMALL change is made that affects a long-term historical trend, then the effect of that change will almost always be transitory β€” the trend will soon revert to its original state. (Example: A reform move- ment designed to clean up political corruption in a society rarely has more than a short-term effect; sooner or later the reformers relax and corruption creeps back in. The level of political corruption in a given society tends to re- main constant, or to change only slowly with the evolution of the society. Normally, a political cleanup will be perma- nent only if accompanied by widespread social changes; a SMALL change in the society won’t be enough.) If a small change in a long-term historical trend appears to be per- manent, it is only because the change acts in the direction in which the trend is already moving, so that the trend is not altered by only pushed a step ahead.

Server is really going to shit when a mod spams memes on the wrong channel.

Whoa

The point of conservative social programs is to ensure the bottom of society isn't bottomless. It causes unrest and revolutions.

Even if you have no compassion, like Dan, there's a practical advantage in reducing the number of desperate people in your society.

Yep, ANTIFA are the biggest cucks of them all. I actually wouldn't mind if we shot ANTIFA members on sight.

Teh robots!

2018-02-12 01:32:57 UTC

I'd love to be able to simulate the effects of a 1k US$ monthly UBI on the economy of the USA. Where's my quantum computer and advanced economic modeling tools when I need them.

2018-02-12 03:14:35 UTC

as awesome as UBI sounds, it'd most likely cause mass inflation

2018-02-12 03:14:57 UTC

unless people selling shit didn't act greedy

2018-02-12 03:15:20 UTC

but that'd never happen, greed is what holds society together

2018-02-12 03:15:26 UTC

for the most part

2018-02-12 05:17:45 UTC

Dude UBI is so easy to debunk

2018-02-12 05:18:20 UTC

In order for the state to give all citizens $100 every day also means it must tax $100 from those same citizens every day

2018-02-12 05:18:43 UTC

It can't just keep making more money than it taxes

2018-02-12 05:19:54 UTC

It’s just sugar coated wealth redistribution

2018-02-12 05:20:17 UTC

With out the benefit of them doing anything for that welfare

2018-02-12 11:05:28 UTC

Well, for it to "work", you'd probably have to take it from corporations or the wealthy, mostly. At some point when enough people have lost their jobs, there will be too few consumers to purchase whatever the corporations you're taxing produce, unless there's UBI. So, if the corporations want to survive, they'd need to think of some way to gain a competitive advantage over their rivals. But this just seems so far away, currently, as there is no shortage of consumers.
