False dv allegations are used to remove gun rights all the time.

2019-01-31 18:24:16 UTC

You can ridicule me but it does not make me wrong. I have my principles.

2019-01-31 18:24:23 UTC

dv allegations?

2019-01-31 18:24:34 UTC

Domestic violence.

2019-01-31 18:24:40 UTC

Domestic violence

2019-01-31 18:24:45 UTC

ah

2019-01-31 18:24:45 UTC

Also felens cant

2019-01-31 18:24:52 UTC

True

2019-01-31 18:25:09 UTC

what part of the world are you in, floki?

2019-01-31 18:25:14 UTC

US

2019-01-31 18:29:38 UTC

But i have lived in a couple countries.

2019-01-31 18:29:44 UTC

And all over the US

2019-01-31 18:29:57 UTC

#armylife

2019-01-31 18:32:20 UTC

Disarming people is pointless anyway. Given enough time and money anything can be acquired by anyone with enough determination. The interesting point here is conflicting law. In some cases laws designed to conflict for an end goal or political tactic. I think we see a lot of that in the US.

2019-01-31 18:34:19 UTC

Well the black market will always exist true. Hence why total bans are retarded. The punishment is rather stiff for felons and dv offenders found with firearms. In states that have such rules for felons. Its more of a "make it more difficult" than anything.

2019-01-31 18:37:52 UTC

I think it is alright to establish certain channels to obtain firearms. This does not, in principle, obstruct you from getting a firearm. A ban is what I have a problem with.

2019-01-31 18:39:12 UTC

You just have to be able, in theory, to get the guns.

2019-01-31 18:39:45 UTC

I have reservations about the felons thing but then it is very obvious why you should not let them have a gun.

2019-01-31 18:39:51 UTC

Yeah I dont think anyone would argue that some sort of rules on the market are appropriate. I mean if you're going to buy a howitzer you should at least have to prove you're old enough.

2019-01-31 18:40:02 UTC

Yes

2019-01-31 18:40:16 UTC

Or at least not batshit insane.

2019-01-31 18:41:38 UTC

If you are sane enough to sign a contract you are sane e ough to buy a gun. If you are not sane enough to buy a gun, you really cannot be considered to be in full working order.

2019-01-31 18:42:01 UTC

So probably shouldn't vote either

2019-01-31 18:48:28 UTC

That's a fair argument. Though mental illness isn't always permeant. That's going to make it difficult to deal with. Also what's the limits on a "contract"? Crazy people can sign up for an internet plan. This is usually a type of contract.

2019-01-31 18:48:57 UTC

What accounts for "sanity" varies. And yea sanity isnt really much of a limiter on contracts.

2019-01-31 18:50:17 UTC

These are the only things that prevent competency for contracts:
One is considered mentally ill if the person suffers from:

Schizophrenia
Senility
Alzheimer's disease
Retardation
Chronic drug or alcohol dependency

2019-01-31 18:51:02 UTC

And the last one is the hardest to prove. So is usually limited to under the influence. But i could easily see it being interpreted to all forms

2019-01-31 18:51:46 UTC

Retardation is also a gradiant basis.

2019-01-31 18:52:28 UTC

And being male if you listen to the APA....

2019-01-31 18:53:46 UTC

^ basically.

Since these basis are based on APA definitions, ee also have that issue.

2019-01-31 18:54:43 UTC

Well you don't usually permanently label someone unfit

2019-01-31 18:54:55 UTC

You continue to evaluate

2019-01-31 18:59:01 UTC

If you get discharge from the military for mental reasons you will get a permanent record of it in Norway that will block you to get a weapon in the future

2019-01-31 18:59:51 UTC

The same happens in the states. It can also cost you a security clearance.

2019-01-31 19:00:21 UTC

And is a common reason for removing custody from veterans during divorce disputes.

2019-01-31 19:05:07 UTC

Post death, concious, genesis, cause of the universe all have moved to perview of religion. All huge grey areas that science may never know the answer

2019-01-31 19:05:46 UTC

I do not consider science incapable of answering questions about things that religion typically claim are beyond the material. I think religious people tend to make up things to explain experiences or occurrences they do not fully understand.

2019-01-31 19:05:55 UTC

Science does not do this

2019-01-31 19:05:59 UTC

@Segfault198 it doesnt ban you from gun purchase.

2019-01-31 19:06:40 UTC

also, the bit about evolution being just a "theory", just speaks to the confusion that the word itself sparks. Gravity is also a theory
