Considering teaching in China for a while after I get my teaching degree. I'm assuming said degree will earn me significantly more perks than just any old English teaching pleb would have.

2017-10-24 12:16:23 UTC

Im pretty sure all teachers need a degree

2017-10-24 13:33:55 UTC

So they have services where you can pay white people to sit exams for you

2017-10-24 13:34:07 UTC

Because the chinks can hire chinks to do that

2017-10-24 14:14:00 UTC

@plasticsword I mean an actual degree, not some shitty TEFL 3 week course certificate.

2017-10-24 14:26:38 UTC

Any degree?

2017-10-24 14:27:06 UTC

So you can have a degree in sports science and teach English in China? <:thonk:288060975775612929>

2017-10-24 14:27:37 UTC

i heard that russians who barely talk english teach it in china

2017-10-24 14:27:39 UTC

so i guess

2017-10-24 14:37:16 UTC

Just look remotely English and you'll be fine

2017-10-24 14:45:38 UTC

yeah any degree is fine

2017-10-24 14:45:55 UTC

if you have a teacher degree, then yes, that opens more options to you. you can teach at the posh international schools

2017-10-24 14:46:05 UTC

which is more pay and a bit more legitimate

2017-10-24 14:47:20 UTC

if you want a teaching job in china - and you have a degree (in anything) I can get you an interview tomorrow and on a plane by next week

2017-10-24 14:47:30 UTC

china is DESPERATE for teachers because everyone fucks off after 1 week

2017-10-24 14:47:57 UTC

so dont think you dont qualify. If you are from a native english speaking country, and you have a degree, done. job.

2017-10-24 14:48:17 UTC

if you ARENT from a native english speaking country, and have a degree, you can still get work, but are limited in where in china you can work

2017-10-24 14:48:37 UTC

if you arent from a native english speaking country and you dont have a degree, you can STILL get work in china - but it wont be legal or legitimate

2017-10-24 14:49:18 UTC

White? Instant hire. Anything else? Semi-instant hire.

2017-10-24 14:49:27 UTC

you'll have more issues with an asian face than you would with a black face

2017-10-24 14:49:51 UTC

but its not impossible, seriously. i work with asian face americans and black face africans. they are so desperate for literally anybody

2017-10-24 14:50:18 UTC

No credit checks, no drug screenings, nothing.

2017-10-24 14:59:51 UTC

Maybe I'm putting too much stock in that rating shit the Chinagov put out... last year?

2017-10-24 15:00:20 UTC

i havent heard anything about it since

2017-10-24 15:00:26 UTC

Where they noted that you got certain points for filling certain criteria, such as working in an unattractive city etc.

2017-10-24 15:00:30 UTC

they just like to make new shit up but never follows through

2017-10-24 15:00:49 UTC

Makes sense. Totally in line with what I've come to expect from Cheena.

2017-10-24 15:00:58 UTC

2017-10-24 15:02:18 UTC

2017-10-24 16:50:00 UTC

Try to say you are smarter than others without sounding like an obnoxious cunt on the internet. It is impossible.

2017-10-24 16:58:06 UTC

@Deleted User You'll be able to land a job as a English teacher

2017-10-24 16:58:11 UTC
