they are only there for cosmetics
This is also true. People fail to recognize that once you have a child it is not about you solely anymore.
Thing is that being a good parent is not about making a lot of money, it's about how you treat your kids and what kind of moral example you set and that is irrespective of money.
There is an added layer of depth to this equation.
@uncephalized exactly
thinking the key to being a good parent is making sure you're rich first is mammon worship
Agreed, but I believe that many parents let lack of funding persuade them into making poor decisions, and this negatively paints their children as a result.
You should be financially stable, and emotionally mature.
Otherwise their stress will bleed.
@xbigmoneygrip mind dumping those in <#266396659062145025> ?
@[DGI]tech what are the Ben Shapiro says the best way to make it into the middle class is have a high school diploma a job and not have kids before you're married
Correct. I've seen plenty of his videos.
he didn't say dont be rich first
or be rich first
that's why I see it as a selfish out
Yeah and that is pretty sound advice, none of it requires a graduate degree or to wait to settle down until after 30.
Kids are not on the near horizon. I still have to get the "relationship" part down first, lol.
How old are you DGI?
23.
@xbigmoneygrip heresy
@uncephalized an associate's degree is really a good one considering it's two years and you could take and I'll class and something like automotive for welding and make a lot of money and not as much money spent on classes
^^^
I have my Associates in Computer Networking.
And recently received my CCNA R&S.
@[DGI]tech and how long did it take you to get
2-years. I went full-time even through summer.
OK you're all right. Just don't put off looking or you'll wake up 5 years from now with no partner and a lot less time to find one...
The certification didn't come until a year or so later. I slacked.
@uncephalized I think you're good at finding won't as long as you know you're not 45 and single
Yeah associates and trade certs are great.
I think my issue right now is that I don't put myself out there enough, and make small talk with other coworkers or whoever the fuck I find attractive.
dont get an associates in automotive, its a total waste
the college loan debt plays into this idea that you need to be rich first
@uncephalized I think people fail to see that because you know skills always pushed you need to go to a 4-year college to be successful.It's in the local college does a technical schools like $85 a credit our
@Big T why not
i was a mercedes benz tech and ASE master tech
