@A. Spader I'm quite a cultural catholic I guess if you wanna call it that
@Gunner Fox Calvinists believes that only a set of people are born with grace basically. You cant redeem yourself in order to get Gods grace
I've got hardly any connection to dogma
I don't understand how one gets from "I am the Way, the Truth and the Light" and "nobody gets to the Father except through me" to "God decided who was going to heaven an eternity before you were born"
Also @A. Spader I define a good man as a god fearing hard working man who’s willing to lead and provide for a family and ready to take care of things and only love the woman they are involved with
That doesn't seem logically congruent with the teachings of Christ.
@Gunner Fox exactly
Catholics are better off than most sects because they don't allow women to lead their churches. Now, if they could only do something about all the faggots...
bahahaha
Chet
NOT politically Correct homey
@Chet Nick Orthodox seem to have that figured out, priests can marry.
@Neon_Flipflop ahh okay. I hope I fill that definition someday
I think they
^
might even be required to marry
not a great Orthodox mind as Matt would say
the celibate priesthood is the main thing about Catholicism that makes 0 sense to me
I think the predestination/predeterminism thing is mostly taking certain verses out of context
Anyone here: how do you define a good woman?
I think perhaps they should rethink that to some degree. Possibly by creting more ways that married people can serve the church.
@Neon_Flipflop oriented towards having and taking care of children, is concerned with caregiving, loyal to family, does her best to maintain her appearance and supports her husband in providing for the family.
I grew up with a lot of "catholic in name only" most of which were hispanics
And they all fucked randos on the weekends and had kids outside of wedlock, some of them with multiple baby daddies
A good woman is a woman that loves God, abhors evil, listens to Christ, and understand that men and women are both worse than the other.
loyal, warm and supportive I guess
@Neon_Flipflop loyal to God above all else, loyal to her family next, ready to side with her husband without always seeing it the same way. Willing to extend grace where it is often undeserved, and of course loving and caring to her family.
Celibacy is both the ultimate demonstration of faith, and the ultimate delusion as to successfully choosing worthy candidates. God-fearing, high IQ males should be required to breed through a marriage, not denied it as a demonstration of fidelity.
wow the Christains are representing today
If you’re gonna rag on Calvinists you’ll need to rag on Catholics too
Yeah Chet I don't have any issue with someone choosing celibacy if they feel called to it, but making it a job requirement is bonkers

this
don't worry yuma we are 😉
There's other ways to serve God outside the catholic priesthood... well maybe. I don't know, do catholics think that protestants can still be saved?
According to a legit Catholic on this server, the Calvinist understanding of predestination is not that far off from the Catholics
depends on the catholic
I thought protestants were heathens
generally no, they don't take non-Catholics for communion
lol
if they don't take you for Communion then you're not getting saved
@pussydestroyer that's why we got burned at the stake so often
