might even be required to marry
not a great Orthodox mind as Matt would say
the celibate priesthood is the main thing about Catholicism that makes 0 sense to me
I think the predestination/predeterminism thing is mostly taking certain verses out of context
Anyone here: how do you define a good woman?
I think perhaps they should rethink that to some degree. Possibly by creting more ways that married people can serve the church.
@Neon_Flipflop oriented towards having and taking care of children, is concerned with caregiving, loyal to family, does her best to maintain her appearance and supports her husband in providing for the family.
I grew up with a lot of "catholic in name only" most of which were hispanics
And they all fucked randos on the weekends and had kids outside of wedlock, some of them with multiple baby daddies
A good woman is a woman that loves God, abhors evil, listens to Christ, and understand that men and women are both worse than the other.
loyal, warm and supportive I guess
@Neon_Flipflop loyal to God above all else, loyal to her family next, ready to side with her husband without always seeing it the same way. Willing to extend grace where it is often undeserved, and of course loving and caring to her family.
Celibacy is both the ultimate demonstration of faith, and the ultimate delusion as to successfully choosing worthy candidates. God-fearing, high IQ males should be required to breed through a marriage, not denied it as a demonstration of fidelity.
wow the Christains are representing today
If you’re gonna rag on Calvinists you’ll need to rag on Catholics too
Yeah Chet I don't have any issue with someone choosing celibacy if they feel called to it, but making it a job requirement is bonkers

this
don't worry yuma we are 😉
There's other ways to serve God outside the catholic priesthood... well maybe. I don't know, do catholics think that protestants can still be saved?
According to a legit Catholic on this server, the Calvinist understanding of predestination is not that far off from the Catholics
depends on the catholic
I thought protestants were heathens
generally no, they don't take non-Catholics for communion
lol
if they don't take you for Communion then you're not getting saved
@pussydestroyer that's why we got burned at the stake so often
it's unfortunate
you are all heathens to the great and powerful dear leader of only Korea
Yeah, well then that's something else the catholics are completely wrong about. They are not the gatekeepers to Christ and _rrrrrrrrrreally_ need to think twice about that attitude.
I used to live in South Korea.
they would disagree lol
@A. Spader they couldnt whip us into submission with the stick of eternal guilt
not after Luther anyway
god bless that dude
it's just funny because Orthodox has just as legitimate a claim to being OG Christianity and Catholics just seem to prefer to pretend they don't exist
speaking of Korea I bet that's a way of getting a loyal and grateful wife, just get one of the brave women who flee into China
S. Korea =/= N. Korea Curt
Luther would be horrified by what Protestantism has become; he was dusgusted by its direction within his own lifetime.
there is only True Korea
Ah, a One Korea man I see
