@Dangerous Spaces I'm on a laptop and my new mic seems to be working fine.
Just took a few minutes to find it, and by then it was too late
@Dangerous Spaces Thanks! Should be back next week, and I hit the very end of the 8:50 mark, so time wise I just need faster reflexes....

Meese Lives Matter
@pokemon_fetish well played
@pokemon_fetish what are your thoughts on the American Air Force's Geese Awareness Training?
@pokemon_fetish I see.
@pokemon_fetish read the first one https://www.militarymeme.com/tag:Air%20Force%20Memes
Politics is a pessimistic business.
@grant but there's not money enough to compensate the feeling of the first ATF boi opening the door and hearing illegal SBRs and oil filters being racked
@grant our tax dollars hard at work
@grant you ever see the clip where Rick Perry forgot what federal agencies he wanted to eliminate? Priceless
@grant I wish he had
Must be
I'll use a different computer next time
@Matt Christiansen on a new device if you have time for one more try
@Dangerous Spaces then I'll wait for next week I suppose
@Dangerous Spaces on the new setup people can hear
@Dangerous Spaces in hindsight I should've done that to begin with
@Dangerous Spaces I checked it with the chat room too weeks ago, and it ran fine. Fingers crossed
What just happened
@Dangerous Spaces app my desktop is why my mic won't work
This both sucks and makes me laugh
Waiting room
It's better than nothing
But hey it worked this time
Perhaps....or perhaps not
@Dangerous Spaces jk I'm not from the tech industry or California
Ain't that the truth
Funny how the people most worried about 'facism' seem to hate the greatest defense against such a government
@Legalize found your hat
Got me there
Yeah not surprised she got the ax before anyone else big
There is nothing cults hate more than mockery
What good ole Dan Crenshaw and the President pushing
In fairness the crusades largely predate the protestant reformation, so the meme still applies
I'm sorry what are we arguing about?
@Mandatory Carry no, I mean what's the topic
what is it that people aren't reading?
well in the meantime show me the legislation you're proposing
I assume it's a modern take on the Militia Act @Mandatory Carry ?
where can I find the specs?
yeah I'm just seeing facebook posts
with Zucc trying to get me to join his site taking up the entire lower side
alright found it
what are your objections @Legalize beyond the compulsion to carry and own firearms?
hmm
seems poorly thought out
how do you enforce this without a registry?
I guess the benefit is every private citizen is armed, but to be honest alot of people are just gonna by a hipoint and stuff it down their pants
I'm not saying I don't thing they should have guns
but if people are forced to do something alot of them are just going to take the easy way out
I assume the guns will have some sort of tracking so people don't simply refuse to comply with the law and sell their guns for something else they want?
who defines what a violent political organization @Mandatory Carry ? They're banned on your list, but I see no definition of what constitutes such a group, or what constitutes membership in said group?
I assume this is written with Antifa in mind but it seems like a hanging chad just a bit
considering that we had congresspeople comparing the tea party to ISIS
it seems like that would violate the due process we're so up in arms about red flag laws violating
since membership in something like say.....antifa is pretty losely defined nationally
You keep provisions of the Gun Free School Zones Act (of 1990) in the bill that sort of defeat the point
90% of mass shootings occur in gun free zones
it seems like if we're arming everyone barring them from schools and courthouses endorses the same logic as gun grabbers
one minute
also when we're talking about liability insurance explain to me the legal ramifications of requiring insurance for cars but banning it for guns?
that is to say, what happens when lawsuits for wrongful death start to roll in?
On the gun free zones thing, as long as everything's categorized you could require a measure of training to carry in 'soft targets' that would be completely optional and subject to more oversight
it's far from perfect but that's probably your best play under the circumstances
yes and no. If someone gets in a car wreck when with a senegalize illegal then the american citizen gets f---ed out of the money to buy a new car without insurance. More to the point in an at fault incident there is no way to cover the holpital bills without such provisions
that's the problem here
does that cover wrongful death/shooting though?
that's what I'm asking
but who pays the attorney's fees?
criminal for the defendant, civil for both?
because the way our legal system without some way to pay for a decent attorney you're f---ed
that's the other problem I have. It's not one of law, it's that good people in the gun world like Mike Jones (youtube channel GarandThumb) ends every video with a plea for his audience to get training. That problem is gonna be multiplied 100x if this passed. The beauty of the current state of affairs is the people who self select wanting to carry have a built in incentive to learn, practice, and get good training. And even with that most people are woefully underprepared
I am NOT in favor of stopping anyone based on what they can afford but the fact of the matter is that something as mundane as a negligent discharge can kill someone
the point I am making is that gun culture is largely existing within the counterculture right now, and if you force everyone (most people) to carry, there is going to be not only serious pushback but lowest common denominator mentality
legally preventing someone from stuffing a hipoint down their pants to comply is not the same thing as being concerned that someone would do it
