even as someone french I have to say longbows were cool
and you know
Nah guns require powder, if you lose access to that great you got a mechanical contraption that cant do anything
the highest cost to effectiveness ratio
*artillery would like to know your location*
powder is more prevalent than spears tho
longbows just you know
wtf
a cannon is still a gun
yeah
Bloomberg is retarded because he buys things he shouldn't
This was funny but obvious to me
anyways
a gun is durable
a spear is flimsy
But a longbow is eternal
What about a gun spear @Lucienne d'Anwyl
if you break your haft u dead
Longbows are not easy tbh, an English longbow has a draw strength of 150lbs, that means each shot is the equivalent of doing a barbell row of 150lbs/65KG
i cant imagine something like that existing outsid of fiction
Best of both worlds <:smugon:512048583806025739>
Longbows were not easy no
To fire a proper longbow/warbow takes at least a year of training
But
I fire a 60lbs recurve bow
And even that is enough to down deer
Harpoon guns
You needed major muscle mass to pull a longbow proper
deer dont exactly wear armour
Peasants with training could still kill armoured knights
If guns were so awesome why did they make bayonets to turn them into spears?
Arrows do fuck all against most forms of armour tbh
Did someone mention the gunlance?
Its all about the head and the draw
because early guns were useless against horses
so they aded spiky bits
If you break your spear, you might be dead but at least you have a short stick to poke people with. If you break your gun, you might be dead but at least you have a short stick to poke people with.
However, when put against your original weapon in that situation, you have much better chance with spears <:smugon:512048583806025739>
Fix bayonnets!
