even as someone french I have to say longbows were cool

2019-12-02 07:47:03 UTC

and you know

2019-12-02 07:47:10 UTC

Nah guns require powder, if you lose access to that great you got a mechanical contraption that cant do anything

2019-12-02 07:47:12 UTC

the highest cost to effectiveness ratio

2019-12-02 07:47:20 UTC

*artillery would like to know your location*

2019-12-02 07:47:22 UTC

powder is more prevalent than spears tho

2019-12-02 07:47:26 UTC

longbows just you know

2019-12-02 07:47:26 UTC

wtf

2019-12-02 07:47:28 UTC

a cannon is still a gun

2019-12-02 07:47:35 UTC

yeah

2019-12-02 07:47:35 UTC

@Storin powderless rifle + knoife = spear!

2019-12-02 07:47:36 UTC

Bloomberg is retarded because he buys things he shouldn't

2019-12-02 07:47:37 UTC

This was funny but obvious to me

2019-12-02 07:47:41 UTC

anyways

2019-12-02 07:47:44 UTC

a gun is durable

2019-12-02 07:47:46 UTC

a spear is flimsy

2019-12-02 07:47:53 UTC

But a longbow is eternal

2019-12-02 07:47:58 UTC

What about a gun spear @Lucienne d'Anwyl

2019-12-02 07:47:59 UTC

if you break your haft u dead

2019-12-02 07:48:02 UTC

i dont know

2019-12-02 07:48:06 UTC

Longbows are not easy tbh, an English longbow has a draw strength of 150lbs, that means each shot is the equivalent of doing a barbell row of 150lbs/65KG

2019-12-02 07:48:11 UTC

i cant imagine something like that existing outsid of fiction

2019-12-02 07:48:13 UTC

Best of both worlds <:smugon:512048583806025739>

2019-12-02 07:48:25 UTC

Longbows were not easy no

2019-12-02 07:48:29 UTC

To fire a proper longbow/warbow takes at least a year of training

2019-12-02 07:48:29 UTC

But

2019-12-02 07:48:36 UTC

I fire a 60lbs recurve bow

2019-12-02 07:48:43 UTC

And even that is enough to down deer

2019-12-02 07:48:46 UTC

Harpoon guns

2019-12-02 07:48:50 UTC

You needed major muscle mass to pull a longbow proper

2019-12-02 07:48:51 UTC

deer dont exactly wear armour

2019-12-02 07:48:57 UTC

Peasants with training could still kill armoured knights

2019-12-02 07:48:57 UTC

If guns were so awesome why did they make bayonets to turn them into spears?

2019-12-02 07:49:03 UTC

Arrows do fuck all against most forms of armour tbh

2019-12-02 07:49:09 UTC

Did someone mention the gunlance?

2019-12-02 07:49:09 UTC

Its all about the head and the draw

2019-12-02 07:49:17 UTC

because early guns were useless against horses

2019-12-02 07:49:23 UTC

so they aded spiky bits

2019-12-02 07:49:23 UTC

If you break your spear, you might be dead but at least you have a short stick to poke people with. If you break your gun, you might be dead but at least you have a short stick to poke people with.

However, when put against your original weapon in that situation, you have much better chance with spears <:smugon:512048583806025739>

Fix bayonnets!
