(And the idiots who perpetuate are still to blind to see)
My confession: I farted in january of 2004
```With the movement’s Joan of Arc Greta Thunberg in the lead – seriously, mainstream publications are unironically calling her Joan of Arc – children worldwide are mounting what some have termed a crusade```
Well, the last children's crusade ended well, so why not
Greta Thunberg is child abuse
>complaining about climate change
>doesn’t do jackshit about ching chong countries and their factories
idk seems extremely retarded if that’s what they’re going for
also let’s get this epic cult victory royale
Well she can't preach in China because they already have a cult there
They also aren't too keen on the mentally handicapped
the Cult of climate change is ready to launch a new virtue signalling crusade
Any new and exciting betrayals today?
Give it time
There is an article in the telegraph about how British institutions have been so damage by brexit that we should think of total reform.
Like a written constitution.
Which I halfway agree with. PM’s have proven that they have no respect for the unwritten rules they are expected to follow the spirit of.
But on the other hand the idea that no parliament can bind the hands of its successors is also something I agree with
I notice trudeau is not trending
if it was trump or boris it would be trending for a week
at least
trump would probably be impeached
A written constitution would be horrible.
@Hiddenhope Well ... we do have a written constitution here in Germany ... and the politicians are ignoring that one as well, because far too many of them are lawyers or lawyer-minded and are "using the letter of the law to defeat the spirit of the law." In theory it is ILLEGAL for Germany to be a member of the EU, because that organisation has the end goal of "ending the sovereignty of Germany", which doesnt mix with §20(2) "All state authority is derived from the people." ... which includes the creation of laws, but if politicians we didnt vote for are writing them it is against that article.
In theory we have "the right to resist" ... but I doubt judges would see this as a valid excuse.
the USSR had a constitution
"Article 50. In accordance with the interests of the people and in order to strengthen and develop the socialist system, citizens of the USSR are guaranteed freedom of speech, of the press, and of assembly, meetings, street processions and demonstrations. Exercise of these political freedoms is ensured by putting public buildings, streets and squares at the disposal of the working people and their organisations, by broad dissemination of information, and by the opportunity to use the press, television, and radio."
tl;dr ... written laws arent safer because politicians will still circumvent/abuse them.
Ch4 has the comments turned off
sigh!
They probably still remember the "Cathy Newman vs. Jordan Peterson" desaster ... and dont want to pay moderators to delete comments.
Reminder the supreme court will vote the prorogation legal.
"Article 57. Respect for the individual and protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens are the duty of all state bodies, public organisations, and officials. Citizens of the USSR have the right to protection by the courts against encroachments on their honour and reputation, life and health, and personal freedom and property."
USSR just simply redefines what property means 😛
The one really great thing in our german constituion is THE RIGHT TO RESIST ... which was added to protect the country from "changing the system" by a dictator. Every german is empowered to "resist", although it isnt stated HOW. This bit is something you should make sure to be included if you get a written constitution for Britain.
We'll be sure to word it better.
@wacka Well ... there is probably another article which allows the state to take your property ... and if you dont have any the state doesnt need to protect it again.
"Article 61. Citizens of the USSR are obliged to preserve and protect socialist property. It is the duty of a citizen of the USSR to combat misappropriation and squandering of state and socially-owned property and to make thrifty use of the people's wealth. Persons encroaching in any way on socialist property shall be punished according to the law"
Yes ... make it foolproof against "using the letter of the law to defeat the spirit of the law" ... i.e. lawyerthink.
They take you instead, since you're also property of the state.
Nope, no written constitution.
looks like the USSR had their version of article 50....
"Article 72. Each Union Republic shall retain the right freely to secede from the USSR."
