lol
imagine if i say black people are better than white people, someone says 'define better' and i just say fuck you i dont have to prove shit
Back to fairies: folklore depicted them as individual living beings possessing of sapience, their own agendas, as well a "magic" powers to affect the real world with.
Do you believe in those?
fucking boring
Eww I have a hair in my throat and I can neither swallow nor move it to the tip of the tongue to spit it out
That's *exactly* what I was doing xD
God damn you are a dumb nigger
@Uksio Bruh
Now I'm gonna feel like that stop
Bruh, It's a hair from my own beard, don't get ideas now
I sucked it up with the tea by accident
Gross
@Cryosite i believe that there are forces outside of our knowledge, inside the woods, the woods being a place that is wilderness and 'other', like someone poisoned the water source or something, that effects the real world, and i have no idea why my water is poisoned
that sort of vein
imagine if your dentist operated on microtransactions
That doesn't match my description.
Like your gender
why not think of them as 'otherwordly beings' that fuck with people, because we dont know what exactly the cause of certain occurrences are exactly
@Cryosite See what I mean? Idiot
rood words
if we're just going to say 'ive never sensed any physical evidence that a thing is as real as a tree is' thats the conversation about the literal
just as bad as the bible thumpers
laws arent real
ideas arent real
*sigh*
Autism
only how people behave knowing they are ideas
and so we act like theyre real things
unless you want to point to a book and say 'see, laws are real'
But noone cares about that
i cant touch the laws
like a tree
Literally noone
Anyway. Ultimately the conversation goes back and forth a few times like this.
Empiricism and rationalism both have good points. I lean well into empiricism. Most theists go pretty hard into rationalism, if they're at all intelligent.
The worry is the people that DO think it's literal and why.
its not either or
Both have things to offer to good conversation, but the conflicts between them generate impasse at times.
empirically speaking, capitalism is the better way to behave as if its the truth
just like drinking and eating is 'the truth'
but capitalism isnt real, only people acting as if it is
and yeah, yourd be pretty stupid to ignore empirical evidence
