@pwtdo No, it does not. It simply implies that you must make a "will" of sorts for your body as well. And just like with your property (whose redistribution is governed by inheritance laws), your organs are something that is basically inheritable, and so the default position is that they be inherited. And the government allows you to let it rot along with the rest of yourself. That said, you indeed should be able to have some say in what happens, just like with a regular will. Don't wanna donate your lungs to a smoker? Just tick that box.
the thinking behind it is that people are more forgetting to opt in as opposed to wanting to opt out. As is if you have gotten a Drivers license you have made that decision already.
