Deportation is much more of a symptom treatment in comparison, so if you're again illegal immigration then the wall should be nr1 on your checklist

When do the democrats have to pick one candidate?

"The wall" is heuristic for comprehensive immigration reform. Sometimes it's a wall, sometime a fence, sometimes drones and sensors. It paints a simple, clear picture. Overstays are a separate issue but it's not an either or. We can and should tackle both, which even critics say a wall will stop 60-70% of illegal crossings. Sounds good to me.
