What's crazy is that they are like all unarmed

They don't all attack him all at once or even really pull out guns or anything, they sort of sit their turn and wait to be killed
Also I think a single well placed explosive would work to kill all of these people
well, if you watch the movie there's a reason behind it all

The whole "nation building" schtick was only part of the Neocon program. Domestically they sought to sell the American people a lot of socialist pogroms by painting them as "right wing" (remember 'kinder gentler'?). In that latter sense I suppose there are Neocons here.
