Well it gets the mainland out of the single market and customs union.

Yes it does and then gives stormont a decision on whether they want in or out of EU goods standards etc

But NI would be out of the customs union

It is a compromise on both sides

But the EU think it will leave them trapped by stormont

And use trusted trader schemes etc for trade between NI and I

However NI would align themselves with EU goods standards

They can vote every 4 years (stormont) if they want to continue the arrangement or not
