2019-10-02 21:29:55 UTC

Mistakes happen when you rush

2019-10-02 21:32:32 UTC

the supreme court can make things up as it goes along now, so thats how theyd stop him

2019-10-02 21:38:06 UTC

I really don't think the EU is going to accept the deal Boris has proposed

2019-10-02 21:55:52 UTC

Why is chat dead?

2019-10-02 21:58:20 UTC

uk politics 11pm

2019-10-02 23:24:34 UTC

They won't use the civil contingencies act

2019-10-02 23:24:57 UTC

And I'm pretty sure neither the EU nor parliament will accept Boris's deal on account of it not being "remain in the eu"

2019-10-03 00:16:16 UTC

😂

2019-10-03 01:53:19 UTC

Not too sure where to put this, but I found a book called The Dream of Rome written by Boris while looking for some books to buy. To quote Wikipedia it “discusses how the Roman Empire achieved political and cultural unity in Europe, and compares it to the failure of the European Union to do the same. “

@₳ U T U M N 🦋 first paragraph in - it looks like the person was brainwashed and is waking up

Holy crap, Vee cracks me up https://youtu.be/U5yATPj2Cwo

2019-10-03 06:13:38 UTC

I know it's a stretch, but it sort of fits in the UK politics bucket

2019-10-03 06:23:32 UTC

That thumbnail is the graphical equivalent of Jeremy's video titles

2019-10-03 06:29:21 UTC

Just in case the video is tl;dw for anyone, the best part is when Vee says that he thinks Misty from Pokemon is a skank at the end

2019-10-03 08:54:26 UTC

Boris' deal is arse, what a surprise

2019-10-03 08:57:15 UTC

I haven't gone through it completely, but does it get us out of the eu proper?

2019-10-03 10:37:46 UTC

Well it gets the mainland out of the single market and customs union.

2019-10-03 10:38:14 UTC

Yes it does and then gives stormont a decision on whether they want in or out of EU goods standards etc

2019-10-03 10:38:23 UTC

But NI would be out of the customs union

2019-10-03 10:40:14 UTC

It is a compromise on both sides

2019-10-03 10:40:25 UTC

But the EU think it will leave them trapped by stormont

2019-10-03 10:40:35 UTC

Funny how the shoe gets on the other foot isnt it

2019-10-03 10:40:54 UTC

Haha,

2019-10-03 10:41:12 UTC

Yes EU, that's why we didn't want May's deal, funny how that works

2019-10-03 10:41:23 UTC

It would keep NI in the UK customs area

2019-10-03 10:41:34 UTC

And use trusted trader schemes etc for trade between NI and I

2019-10-03 10:41:49 UTC

However NI would align themselves with EU goods standards

2019-10-03 10:42:14 UTC

They can vote every 4 years (stormont) if they want to continue the arrangement or not

2019-10-03 10:42:35 UTC

Which starts 4 years after the transistion period which ends in 2021

2019-10-03 10:42:49 UTC

Sounds alright to me

2019-10-03 10:42:58 UTC

It gets the UK out

2019-10-03 10:43:02 UTC

It gives NI a say

2019-10-03 10:43:15 UTC

And it doesn't put up a hard border between the irelands

2019-10-03 10:43:32 UTC

However it gives the EU little hope of unilaterally pulling our

2019-10-03 10:43:45 UTC

So they won't like it

2019-10-03 10:43:49 UTC

Funny that

2019-10-03 10:45:19 UTC

some people might see it as putting NI into the EU .. some people will look at it as putting RoI into the UK customs union... thats usually what happens in compromises... none of the extremes are happy
