Individuals are the product of society, and they accomplish nothing alone
because you cant.
what do you mean, that is the thrust of all recent philosophy even despite counter-enlightenemnt sentiment
because such an idea already lends itself to corruption.
thats sort of the irony of it.
“people are corrupt, we should teach them how to not be corrupt.”
if a person rightly regards themselves as a self aware cog in a determined machine and then articulates how their self is a structure of language
this doesnt work when you cant ensure with absolute certainty that the meathod by which you teach people isnt itself corrupt.
they will no longer be under the foibles of dreamers manipulating them into patterns for their amusement
@nemurin and those individuals will find a way to rule themselves. as they should.
but not everyone is like that.
there is no un-corrupt movement nor even all encompassing good just a set of preferences in the mortal coil
and to help people reach a peacable environment for life in the most peaceful way possible should be the aim
which varies to group and individual broadly
@nemurin if there is no collective good i have no reason to work collectively.
Where is my arm chair emoji when I need it
what collective do you refer to?
its goals are usually defined rather brutely and enforced rather uniformly
obama
this is an aside but are any of you fine folks studied on historical catholic liturgy
All I know is what it lacks
Smh
yeah im gonna have to find some dyed in the wool fundie or actually email a historian
or learn latin lol
@nemurin constantine is rolling in his grave
Bruh just get on some Christian server there are plenty of people that can help you there as long as it's a normal one
Its kind of an odd thing i need in pre-tridenterian mass and ritual information
so id have to find some server afilliated with religious history as the texts are sparse on the exact subject
do you all believe in free will
I do, yes
not relevant but I’d like to know
compatibilism is the only one that makes sense
oh alright. Well, how?@vespertilionineVigilante
How do you explain free will
It's when you have an option to choose between different things and it's not predetermined?
its hard to really boldly claim that decisions are more than the output of recursive reaction to the environment and genetics
^ this
but at the same time empiricsm will never be able to determine something with surety
so there will always be room for an inexplicable phenomena in the micro level decisions
Eh
