Per the osteopath I saw for an ankle sprain two years ago, soft tissue injuries actually take 3 months to fully heal. Come back to your usual activities very cautiously after six weeks. I would continue to wear at least an ace bandage until the three months are up. During the six weeks a brace with metal supports to limit mobility is a good idea.
So what I’m hearing is I’m young and dumb for jumping back so soon? As long as I’m pain free I should be okay tho right? I planed on trying 40-50% on lifts tonight to gauge
DM me and I'll reply
@peytonT Tissue isn't healed even if it doesn't hurt. You're increasing your chances of creating a recurring injury, very common with sprained ankles.
We gon’ climb it 🅱ois
So went and hit the gym and nothing hurts except when I walk in my bench setup but that’s an easy fix I’ll switch to my oly shoes and plant the heel
Went ahead and hit my prescribed deadlifts and ohp for the day cause I felt good. Will take a light days before squats to be extra safe
The lack of squat focus of my oly program took away my 315 PR low bar back squat. feelsbadman
I think I'll pick the SS program back up in conjunction with my oly program which will basically have me lifting almost every day
If you really want to get your squat up do a Smolov Jr cycle
Got me from 400 to 500 by the end
I'll check that out @BigBadSaxon - ID thanks
It's a hellish couple months but you'll be the best at squatting you've ever been
I'm long over my fear of squatting lol
Smolov will make you fear again haha
damn 10 sets of 3 at 85%
sheeit
The hard days were the 9 rep sets for me
Was terrifying and exhilirating
Oh wait I was looking at the full smolov
so the Jr is only 3 weeks? Is that enough to see improvement?
I guess I can just pick up where the Jr left off and continue the full
That's what I ended up doing
We had to cut the full one short because of a deployment but the squat and overall body gains were unreal
Smolov is real shit.
awesome, did you gain any lean mass?
I assume you were eating a lot, looks like a lot of volume to not be eating a ton for recovery
I gained half an inch on my biceps and lost inches around my waist
were you doing the bench cycle?
No
damn half an inch on the arms on a squat program? lol
Yeah. It was strange
question; were you low bar or high bar squatting?
And to this day my ass got so big girls comment on it regularly
Low bar
lol my ex was obsessed with how round my ass got
tbh I think mine got too big
