Emotionally close. There are times when we write stuff that gets to us, but anyone else reading it wouldn't bat an eye at it.

My point is, get someone else to look at it, see if it reads "off" to them. If not, then just keep on going.

I've had one guy read it so far, he hasn't said the scene was cringe
