The key to getting good cuts with hand chisels is to cut across the grain. I also trace the pulley with a razor and it keeps the edges from blowing out.
I build a custom book scanner
I made it from 1/2 Birch ply wood
I made a special cut-out with a glass insert
I cut the glass with a Four-fluted straight flute drill bit
I made mounting brackets from the scrap Birch plywood and mounted the Scanner up-side down so I can place the Book face down on the glass surface to get a perfect image surface
I placed Teflon tape on and around the base of the scanner and used 5min epoxy as a plastic shim so that the scanner could be mounted to the birch brackets without drilling into the base of the base of the scanner
Looks nice bro.
Damn
Im building a second one for larger books
Well done @V.Balboa - PA

So many windows...

Iβm still working on my chest... with the cold weather and my unheated garage itβs pretty much still at the same point it was when I last posted π
I got some hard wood flooring for 1$ a box from my work and I plan to just square it off and use the hard wood for some nightstands too but not until it heats up a bit.
Hahaha bundle up bro. You could use that flooring as verner. Stick it on with a pin nailer. Church some stuff up hahaha.
Anyone know what kind of nail this is? Can they still be bought? I found a couple lodged in the beams of a shed here.
I'm pretty sure those are shoeing nails. @Daniel Turch @wolfwood
Wow, I hadn't thought of that! I thought they were some sort of old square/cut nail
It looks like you are correct
A previous resident must have been a farrier.
Daniel is a farrier, that's why I tagged him hahah.
I know my nails haha. Cut nails have a blunt end and are thicker. That's cool though.
If only I had a horseshoe to hang up for luck
Does anyone know a good place to get 2x2 lumber that is furniture grade? I am making a dresser for my gf and for now my only idea is to take 2x4s and rip them down, but if possible to get really good lumber Iβd be willing to just buy it.
