Will probably have something up about changing a tire to post tomorrow since I will be out of town Monday. After that I'll doccument an oil change on the Ford.
Can someone assign each person learning as student of a certain field so we aren't lumped in with the @everyone notification?
For instance I would want to be a student of farming/gardening
@Deleted User whatcha mean? Can you clarify brother?
Like, by channel?
As in if someone came here to learn just mechanics then they should be put into the group of Mechanic - Student. Just as others have the title of SME. Then you could do (@methanic - student) to notify them
What if someone wants to learn a little of everything?
Then they don't have to be put into a group. I'm just annoyed from the everyone notification. It'll also help us in the future
Actually, I meant to have the everyone notification available only to the SMEs. Would that help?
You can mute the channels you don't want giving you notifications
^this
Just mute the @ everyone command.
New post up, not as many photos with some bad MS paint thrown in but it should get to the point!
Ok
Will clear this up later
BTW I haven't seen any everyone notifications in this server. Am I missing something?
@Deleted User you may already know this but if you don't want a tag every time someone writes something in the server, you can tweak it in your notification settings
I think you can personally mute any channels you don't want, though ideally guys would be checking in on all servers to learn things.
We should have a safety thread.
I told him to rub some dirt on it and let's get back to work.
It's going to be a wonderful day...
Ooh, yeah, looks like he may have gotten some tendons?
Oosh. What happened?
Fuck dude!!!
Only a flesh wound..
Delicious
I mean... ouch
@Deleted User he did, the doc told him to do nothing because there isn't much left to sew up.
From what I understand he was loading a 40ft ladder on his truck this morning and slipped and the ladder smashed his finger into the stop on his ladder rack.
He said it never hurt until after he left the hospital, so you know it was bad.
Poor guy wasn't at work yet so workers comp said they aren't going to cover it.
That's fucked. Hopefully he has some secondary insurance
He does. It's bullshit workers comp won't cover it. He's the second guy I know personally who got hurt loading things for the job at their home that they won't cover.
I swear those kikes at those comp companies aim to not give out money
My girlfriend messed her wrist up at work recently and they wouldn't give her a dime. Had the doctor's notes and everything documented and they claimed she didn't.
She was quitting there anyways and it happened on her last week so she didn't fight it.
Yeah they're a joke. Hope your girl's ok. Wrist damage could be potentially bad, like as far as long term problems.
At least he's alive. I've seen people die at work
Everything from arcs, people falling, and scissor lifts falling over
I was up in a basket on a fork lift and the driver drove me into a steel beam once, luckily I was wearing a helmet
Still gave me whiplash though
