We're talking about a time when high altars and altar rails were being physically torn out of churches, and clown masses/'new sacraments' being forced on the laity
Then this is just a misunderstanding lmao. There is indeed a big difference between then and now. My own archbishop removed the table himself as sign of what is to come.
It really is a misunderstanding
Yeah man them clown masses were real af
And the scandal of all those nuns becoming defacto whores and stuff
JMJ
Times had a magazine with that on the cover
Scandalous

Anyone want to give me a brief summary of the Borgias?
id like to hear some takes as well
I'm watching the Borgias
On Netflix
And so far
It's a great show
its a good show but its hollywoods takes ]
its scandalous and does not give one custody of the senses
All SSPX priests now are ordained under the authority of Rome, and they even organize the mass at the Vatican occasionally. I dont see how it could be seen as problematic
Maybe under the assumption of heresy against the church during the time lefebvre was excommunicated because all the people he ordained were considered invalid but its way different now.
^^I think the SSPX are for the most part fine rn, I'd personally rather go to FSSP mass if I can but it's sacraments aren't illicit anymore I don't think
@jabbatheshlut Thanks for the book recommendation yesterday my dude, Answered so many questions I didn't know I even had
Even better that it came from an ex-calvinist so a lot of the issues he originally had were the same as mine
Okay this is epic

@cry☧☩icKiwi isnt it crazy how he starts off the "it is finished"...understanding 1st centure hebrew culture and expressions gives true context to the scriptures...i also like his take on the Gospel of John and how its sort of out of place as its not "synoptic" but its rather meant to explain throughout its entirety that Christ is our Passover. Beautiful.
Yeah, I really feel like it made my understanding of the life of Christ as a whole so much more complete
I'd always just assumed "it" was just his time on earth originally
